Auto Corss in a vert?
Well, had a bit of bad luck recently when my car caught fire while on an early Sunday morning drive. Everything mechanical is salvageable but most of the wiring burned up with the interior. The insurance is working with me and it appears that I'll get a reasonable settlement.
So, now I have to decide what to replace her with. I can arrange to keep all my running gear; springs, dbl adj shocks, adj torque arm, tubular control arms front and rear, ZZ383 sbc and T56 trans but finding a suitable car to put it all in in the midst of North America's "rust belt" will be challenging.
There is a super clean '86 convertible that was originally a Florida car for sale locally. It's in need of a resto so, perfect right? Well, sub frame connectors certainly stiffened up my T-Top car but would that be enough to stiffen a 'vert when she's pushed through the corners? Would I be wasting my time?
Thanks,
Jon

It doesn't matter what you drive. It's never a waste of time! Depends on how good a driver you are and if you want to be competitive in some specific class and if it'll double as a DD. It probably won't ever be as stiff as a hard top but how much auto-x v how much cruising?

Way more cruising for sure. I'm a huge poser,,, just wantng to become less-so. And as the kids get older more time will become available for such things...
Thanks for your input!
