everyone says 6.5 with heavy inner fender modification, but with 28x10.5's my 5.5 bs wheels were close after the heavy inner fender modification. i think my moser rear may have been a bit narrower than the stock rears? no way in gods green earth could i have gotten 6.5's to fit. minitubs would have been mandatory. much more room with the 275 radials though.

would 5.5 bs be ok with a stock width rear?

so many ppl say different back spacing its hard to know which one to get
so far ive heard 6.5 , 5.5 , and 4.5

5.5" is normal good backspacing. Depending on the tire size, 6.5 backspacing may cause issues.

It's not only the inside of the fender right behind the wheel but the inner curve of the fenders especially at the front of the wheel well. Too much backspace and too tall a tire will require a bunch of sectioning of the tub to make the tire fit.

I plan on going with the same exact setup. Let me know what backspacing you go with and what you had to do to get them to fit please.

6.5" backspacing here. bump stop area must be trimmed out, as well as the use of offset rod ended lca's and some bfh work. i've run as small as a 26x10.0 and as large as a 28x10.5 all with no issues.

bump stops gone
off set lca
just under mini tub
fine tune with a body hammer to move spair tire hump inward to make room for tire on pasgr side.
front inner body rib.. forward inner wheel wells cut and moved in 2" on ea side. as well as all sheet metel.

Re: about to order some 15x4 and 15x10 dragstars what bs?

he means the tire will stick out like those trailer park thirdgen photos we see online.

If I was running only 5.5bs then I would buy a 15x9 rim only. Otherwise I'd do all the necessary cutting to run the 6.5" bs and tuck the tire, plus less rubber cleanup on the quarter panel as well.

Re: about to order some 15x4 and 15x10 dragstars what bs?

this is how the car looked back in the 90's when running 11s
and 10's. with 28x12.5x15 tucked under... alot of guys use the truck tire size of 275 60 15. the same size my 91 chevy truck came with...seems to be the bolt on ticket.

100% stock springs front&back fantastic fit. but its as big as you could go.

sitting the stock Ht.like always.
you could bolt the OE wheels Back on.. and No one would Know..as long as its not running...
street cars...ya it's fun.

take it from the guys who are telling you.xpndbl3 & mw66nova. your going to want to keep it tucked under. the looks are better.
