Is there anywhere in the midwest to run top speed like bonneville?

look around the web for the southern california timing association(SCTA) and the east coast timing association(ECTA) they are the 2 big groups. i know the ECTA has their meets on an old airfield, i think it is maxton virginia, not sure though.

It's in Maxton, North Carolina, and you make 1-mile runs from 0 to whatever mph. I haven't heard of any other top-speed events east of the Mississippi.

TRD track in Ohio is where a lot of magazines test their really fast cars.

The tollway is the closest place I can think of.
