Hi,
I am currently tweeking the suspension in my Solo1/road race GTA and some people have adviced me to remove the rear sway bar and get the most stiffest front sway bar I can find with mechanical links with no poly anywhere.
What are the seasoned road race drivers recomendations?

I don't road race but I'm sure a front and rear sway bar are the best way to do. Installing a larger front sway bar will always be better.
Front sway bar will lessen the amount of dive the car will have going into corners. Rear sway bar will help get traction to both tires under acceleration as it prevents the diff from rolling when the pinion is trying to climb the ring gear.
I doubt you'll find a front swap bar without poly. At least one that's a direct bolt in anyway. You can always adapt some sort of aftermarket system if you have fabrication skills.

I run Autocross, and run track days on road courses in my 91 Firebird.
One of my first upgrades was to a set of WS6 36mm Front and 24mm Rear sway bars. Your car should have that combo stock.
The stock ws6 sway bars are pretty beefy and work well.
I added polyeurathane bushings and endlinks front and back. I also added a
wonder bar (Brace for the front sway bar) from an IROC. Handling is much improved and i can control over steer with the throttle with ease.
I would not recommend removing your rear sway bar.
Does you car have a problem with oversteer?
If the car is too tail happy for your style,
I would recommend stiffining up the front of the car with poly sway bar bushings and end links. leaving the rear sway bar bushings rubber.
If the car is still too tail happy for your tastes you can get a smaller rear sway bar from v6 and base model v8 cars on ebay for very cheap. they come in many sizes.

You should as a racer have every rear bar size sitting in your parts bin - sometimes a car needs fine tuning that only a rear SB can give. There are OEM 18, 19, 21, 23, and 24mm bars out there.

Rumor is the 15th T/A's got a 25 mm bar .. I'd love one !
But my car became loose with the addition of more spring rate via the ground control front and rear spring jackers kit ... stepped down the rear bar from a 24 to a 21 and it tightened it right back up
(36 MM front)
