Any guesses what this would run?

I normally don't ask this but I'm bored and want to see what people think. (good reason eh?)

Anyhow, right now I have a stock L98 running 14.2's (see times and dyno number in sig).

Soon I have these mods going on: LT1 intake, Compcams 8-306-8 (.510/.540 lift, 230/244 dur, 112 lobe sep), hedman longtube headers, and a true dual 2.5" exhaust, heavily ported L98 heads.

Stock 700r4, 3.23 posi-rear. Car weight roughly 3600 lbs with driver.

So what is everyone guesses?

and yes I know the heads are going to be a big restriction... but I can't afford new heads, so the dremel is going to earn its pay!

i woudl say you woudl prolly see something in the mid 13's. the car will come out like a raped ape with all the torque that the head and cam combo will be making(you are looking at tons of air velocity) but then it will die really bad up top. if you can hook i would look for something 13.4ish at about 101-102mph.

good luck and let us know what happens.

later

When funds permit, I'd get some 3.73 gears and a 2800-3000 stall, too. I know that you know about the heads limiting HP, but they are really going to hurt it. I'd guess low 12's if you end up getting some good heads, gears, and TC and are able to hook. As is, I'd guess mid 13's, *maybe* low 13's as well.

My old 383 had a somewhat similar combination but the car was a lot lighter and carbed. The 383 specs are still on my web page. I was still using a 9 bolt with 3.27 gears and ran high 11's at altitude.

It's just a matter of finding the right combination of parts. All the fancy bolt-on stuff isn't cost effective to some good engineering and planning.

Your car is a bit heavy and the 700R4 isn't a good choice for drag racing and I don't care what others may think about it. It's a street tranny. You don't need OD in the 1/4 mile, the 1-2 gear spread is too far apart and first gear is too low.
