American Sedan Camaro
Anyone here with an Asedan car that cen tell me more about the motor rules? The scca website is terrible and the general comp rules are no help. I wanna start getting my drive line ready since my cage is almost done and suspension and brakes are done. I know the wheels in the pic won't work they're my street tires, I have race tires on 17s for the track.

Re: American Sedan Camaro
Sorry but I don't know rule requirements for scca. Cage looks nice. Is the tubing diameter and thickness enough to meet requirements?
I do know that many people build a car then go and try to race scca only to find out they've done too many changes to fall into the lower classes and they don't have enough to be competitive in the upper classes. Generally you go by the guidelines in the rulebook and build a car to fit into a specific class.

Not sure if these are correct or not - can contact SCCA or join their forum.

Re: American Sedan Camaro
I joined asedan.net and was able to find the information I needed, the people there where very helpful. I also decided to experiment with rustoleum for paint. I did some research and watched some youtube videos. I've always used automotive paint but figured since its a race car I would try a budget paint job. I sprayed with my hvlp gun. I cut the paint 50% with thinner and added about two cap fulls of fast hardener I had left over from another job to 24 ounces of mix. It still took forever to dry enough to tape off the design. It took three days to paint and is still soft to a finger nail press, but it looks pretty good. Now I gotta get all my decals on and I wanna paint the wheels, mirrors and headlight buckets black.
