Turbo Lq4 86 T/A goes roll racing
This was my 1st roll race event. Got invited very last minute to see if my car could hang with quick street/strip cars. The event is hosted by a fairly big Dodge performance shop out here. It was a fairly good day weather wise and a tailwind.I was nervous the car would have heat issues and pull timing as i try to up the boost running down some of the faster cars. There was supras, gtrs, audis, bmws and lots of hellcats vettes and camaros to play with. I did a total of 9 passes and got a good feel for the car.Never needed to try to power through 5th gear so i learned alot of what things to work on next time. Overall the car did better than anyone expected and became hard to get a race as i trapped 156mph
Heres the video.

Nice. Something I'd like to try myself.
Whereabouts did this happen? Looks like Toronto Motorsports Park (my old "home" track...).
It seems Canada is woefully lacking in events like this.

Yup you guessed it TMP. The Canadian car/race scene in general is nowhere near the level of the US. Very limited tracks throughout the country makes it even harder to have alot of events. But the roll racing was definitely new to me..at a legal place lol. Shifting into 5th under power was something I need to get used to the next time I do a roll race event.I was losing alot of ground on the 4-5 shift.

Glad you had some fun.
I would never ever run in 5th gear again. 5th and 6th are overdrive and don't have the strength of 1-4. Shift fork isn't strong enough for aggressive shifts either. Those gears are for granny driving on the highway. Need taller tire or a gear change if this is a new hobby that you want to keep doing.
