Drag week secrets and experiences

Drag week secrets and experiences
I'm thinking about putting my car into drag week next summer (the Canadian version)
4 tracks, 1000 miles.
My car is a nitrous combo, 421sbc, 4.11 gears, PG.
I'd like to get a gear vendor, but I can't justify the $3,000 for it.
Think I'll just drive slower. At 60mph, I'm about 3100 rpm
I'm going to use my stock GTA rims with a 28" tall rubber, and use that while on the hiway.
Also getting a hitch and pulling a small trailer (motorcycle trailer possibly)
Anyone have any secrets or tricks that I should look into?
Valve train secrets?
Fuel?
Extra parts?

Re: Drag week secrets and experiences
I've watched a lot of race week videos and it seems like heat is the #1 enemy on the road so you might want to go extra overkill in the radiator, oil cooling, and trans cooling systems. Motion Raceworks put up a cool video on what to pack in a trailer, it seems like they do pretty well at the events:

What tracks are doing the Canada version?
When Calgary still had a track, I figured a Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Medicine hat loop would be a good choice. Calgary or Edmonton being the start/end location because of their size.
