Estimated 1/4 time?? (Will upgrade soon)
Just wondering what you guys think my 1/4 time and HP are now, and then after some mods...
Right now:
new block 350, bored .030 over, keith black flat-top pistons (9.5:1 CR), new rods, crank, bearings, piston rings, etc... Aluminum heads (L98 i think), Crane cam .427 lift & 270 duration, head and valve work, B&M 2000 stall TC and I believe 3.43 rear end.
Future plans:
New heads or do more work on current (still need to get the casting #), comp cam XE cam, intake manifold and carb (edelbrock air-gap, 750 cfm performer, if not larger), Hooker or SLP 1 3/4" headers and exhaust (dual 2.5" or 3" catback), 3.73 POSI, SFCs, and maybe a 2500-3000 stall TC.
Any recommendations you guys might have?? Larger rear end? New vortec heads or work w/ the L98 (i believe thats what they are)?? How much would HP & 1/4 change if i were to go NOS down the line??
Mainly im lookin to break into the the 12 second range... 11 if im lucky

dont get your hopes up too high about breaking into the 12s right away unless you can hook hard. Id say elevens are out of the question as of now. You probably have a mid 13 second car right now and depending on how big of a cam you go with, your intake setup, and traction....mid 12s arent out of the question.
yeah i figured i wouldnt see 12's unless i got some nice traction... i was toying w/ the idea of 4.10 gears, but im thinking it might be a bit overkill and might actually be worse for 1/4 times on my 350 than something a bit lower (unless it was built massively).
This car is going to be my daily driver, but then again im only in high school, and my main driving is to/from school (3 miles to get there) and to/from work (about 4 miles away)...so i really dont have much of a concern if the car is gonna be a bit of a gas hog. So im pretty much just lookin for somethin to toy around with (have my dad teach me the basics of everything) and be able to smoke any kids at school
