Stock and in new/great condition they ran from 14.2-14.4 usually. U have to figure it on condition and other factors what it might do at the track.

91-RED-WS6 -- What altitude did you run at? What was your 60 foot time?
I know my chip is way out of whack at the moment, but I'm trying to get an idea of what my L98 is supposed to be at.

Your car stock should be a 14.2-14.4 sec. car in right conditions.

Hrm..
My car has 104,000 on it, I can understand the soft tranny. My temps are around the same, and I corrected for altitude, but I'm around a half second slower than you.
Last weekend I found out the previous owner didn't believe in exhaust manifold gaskets, so who knows what else in wrong with that car. Your engine's probably tighter than mine, but at least we're comparable.

Yeah, that was with the suspension mods. I really suck a throttling it off the line, so I spin for a little bit.
Come April 5th I'm going to the track again. Then I can see how much gain gutting cats gives me, try to learn how to go easier off the line to minimize spin, and try out my new eproms I burnt.

B/W 3.27's. I have 225/55/16 Goodyear GT II's on the rear.
I've found that on the street, if I don't "torque up" first, the car seems to "spring" off the line and take off really nice. But if I torque up first, I'll light up the tires pretty good usually. The only time I didn't light the tires at a light while torquing up was after doing a smokey burnout in an apartment parking lot right before.
So I'm thinking I should try taking off the line at idle a couple times and see how I do. They say that on street tires doing a burnout doesn't help because of the composition of the rubber, but if it helped that one time I might try it again.

Some heavier cars, like the Impala SS, you get better 60 ft times if you 'roll onto' the gas gradually. It's hard to keep from mashing it, but it may help.
Practice, practice, practice - (I'm CERTAINLY no pro, but I hope to get even better)

I've got Lakewood LCA's with 3.73 gears and a Yank 3200, and traction is hard to come by. I've had a best 60 ft. of 1.98 on ET Drags, and a best of 2.09 on Futura radials. Go figure.
My 1/4 ET was the same on each run too!?
On the slicks, it felt like they hooked real good, and I pulled out of the hole faster, but I think the tranny was slippin pretty bad cause of the greater stress of the added traction.
I'm about to do the entire suspension for the strip and put a new stout tranny in, hopefully this will help.
