hi
hi
Hey, I'm new to ThirdGen and checking it all out. I've got a 91 Z28 Camaro, it needs a little bit of tlc, new seats and a good buffing to shine it back up, some new weather stripping, etc. I'm not all that knowledgable with the mechanical side of things yet, but it looks like i'll find lots of info here for that. Anyway, just wanted to say hi.

Re: hi
Well Hi back.
Where you from? I'm actually from the Interior of BC.
Don't worry about your knowledge level, none of us were born experts (except Vader...I think it has to do with the fact he was conceived in the back seat of an old Chevy).
The more you read, the more it will make more sense. And when you are ready to ask a question, just go to the appropriate Message Forum and post your question there.
But try doing a "Search" on your question first. Often your question has most likely been asked before...and then you only need to ask for some clarification. I always do a search first because I hate people to see I don't know everything.
This Board is more relaxed where people can introduce themselves (like you are doing) and possible get together.

Re: hi
Welcome! Like Grim said, there is A LOT of information on these boards. The Search is probably the most valuable tool, though sometimes it can be a but of a trick to find the right keywords. If you searched and were suprised you didn't find you answer it is always smart to preface your post with "I searched but I couldn't find anything that answered my question". Lots of times a more experienced member can then point you in the right direction or answer the question for you depending on the complexity.
Enjoy the boards!

Re: hi
Thank you both for the welcome! I appreciate the tips to use the Search first, I don't want to be clogging up the boards when the answers are already out there.

Welcome to the board Roadtripper. Tell us a bit about yourself, your car and plans for the car.
There is a dyno gathering planned in Sequim, WA next weekend.

I am not sure how far away you are but this might be a good chance for you to meet other thirdgen lovers in your neck of the woods. I am down in Portland Oregon. Not sure if I will be able to make it but I know several from the Portland/Vancouver area are as well as a few folks from the greater Seattle area.

Re: hi
Well there's not much to tell about me, I work too much and right now I'm just waiting for the sun so I can take the t-tops off and go for a long drive.
As for my Z I need to replace one or both seals on the rear hatch hinges to stop the swimming pool that has collected under the rear driver's side seat. It also needs new seals all around, the guy who owned it before me had it sitting undriven for a couple of years under a cover so they are dry and badly cracked. New seats are in the plan, the driver's seat had a nice duct tape repair holding it together so you can see the metal skeleton inside now.
Mechanically the car is sound, although i'm keeping my fingers crossed since this is not my area of expertise......yet. Of course the more I learn I'm sure my wish list is going to grow!
So all in all it just needs some tlc which it will get soon and if that sun would just come out and stay.....
