hey, i was wondering if there were gonna be any cruises or meets around the portland area?

 

Theres a show next Saturday in Skamokawa, WA, which is about 80 miles to your northwest, near Long Beach. I'm headed down from the Seattle area for the weekend. Several of us going to the show are from the Portland area. We will also do a cruise on Sunday, possibly to Long Beach.

THere is an open show on the 2nd in yelm for the educational foundation. at the middle school

then there is a buick show in puyallup

then on the 16th there is a Fbody show (hope to get more firebirds & 3rd gens to show up) in Olympia @ titus will

Then on July 8th there is the ALL CAMARO & CHEVY SHOW.
NO BEFORE ANYONE ASK YOU CANT BRING YOUR BIRD TO THIS SHOW, THEY CLASSIFIE IT AS A CORP ENGINE UNLESS ITS GOT A AFTER MARKET SBC IN IT. DONT ASK ME WHY I DONT MAKE THE RULES

 

Wow... that is a weird rule.

Just curious, so I had a 350 from a late 90s truck in my 88 Trans Am to replace the original 305... does that count as an "Aftermarket" SBC?

 

you would have to ask I have no clue (ask DON lol give him the headaches or Kevin)
heck they will not allow GMCs in the show & they run the same engines.

I know that they were trying to explain the diff between Corp engine & a Chevy engine.

They said a Mustang with a SBC in it was allowed but a firebird wasnt because of it being a corp engine.

So I dont know.

 

Wow, that is pretty crazy! I can definitely see why you'd be confused... because I am too! :-)

Guess that means I'd have to stick a BBC in a Firebird, hard to call that a corporate motor :-)

 

or put a Camaro nose on your car & call it a Cambird lol
