Anyone in the Tri Citys run a EBL?
Anyone in the tri cities WA have a EBL ecm? I am thinking of getting one when the weather gets better but I could use a little help tuning. I have never tuned before and am a little intimidated by it. I have done lots of reading here and on dynamicefi's website and its still a little fuzzy, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Well dude I am in the Portland area. In have been trying to get it dialed in for over a year. I have not found anyone arround here that has even heard about them. I am going to have it tuned by someone else that is if I can find someone. My tune is going no where. RBob has really been trying to help but it isn't helping. I jus don't get it. If you find someone I am willing to do the drive.
I am just alittle flustrated.

greg what system do you have? EBL or EBL P4? What kind of problems are you running into? Is you car not drivable, or is it just not getting the results you want?

So are you data logging and then performing a VE learn? Also are you using a WB O2 sensor in junction with the ebl system? The EBL P4 is a newer version of the classic ebl with some software upgrades and a usb port instead of a serial port.

I do VE learns and then flash. I do data logs too but not sure why. I have a narrown band. My EBL is only a 1 and 1/2. old. I still haven't gotten my car running rite yet. I haven't logged to many mikles though. I just went from a straight adj fpr to a vac fpr and it seem to have really helped.

A data log is just a recording information of what the cars ecm is seeing and sending out to the ignition and injectors and other controlled functions of the ecm. You can use a log to see what the car was doing when it did something you didn't like (ex stumble).
With a narrow band you can only ve learn the spark tables but with a wb o2 it will adjust the fuel tables as well, which might make it easier to get your car running better.
I bought one so I could see what my af ratios are, a wide band O2 is a great tuning tool for any motor carb or efi.

Re: Anyone in the Tri Citys run a EBL?
Well to start off I do not have my ebl yet, as I am waiting for nicer weather/ cash to get better. A good digital WB O2 will run you $150-$200 and are super easy to install. I have this one
You weld in a o2 bung, hock up a power/ground wires and then run the signal wire to the ebl
Here is the write up bob did on his web site of how to run date inputs to the ebl and set the parameter in the software.

Hope this helps.

Re: Anyone in the Tri Citys run a EBL?
I am tired of throwing money at this damn car to get it to run rite. I was told by everyone that the EBL is the best thing and the tuning will be better. Rite now I wish I would have kept the stock set up and had a chip burnt and been done with it. My build is a common build I figure some one would of allready had a BIN that is pretty close if not dead on.
I wrote Bob and sent him my recent data log to see if he could make heads or tail of it and he hasn't gotten back to me yet. That is the one good thing he seemd to be there for you.
I think I am going to a profession dyno tuner and see if they can help. They are just real busy and at least arround here they have never heard of an EBL.
You seem to know what you are dealing with I hope it works for you.

If you want my EBL I'll sell it to you. I went back to the stock computer and had a chip burnt on a dyno. Now I'm done period. No more farting arround.

Re: Anyone in the Tri Citys run a EBL?
I just need some info on it to try and figure out what model you have. Its like you are trying to sell me a and all you tell me is its a third gen. The ebl is different for tpi and tbi cars plus there is a new model out. I would like to know when you bought it and if you could plug a usb cable into it. Thanks
ps I would just come and get it in person my wife would love an excuse to go to Portland haha
