I pissed off a ~30 year old Hispanic in a soccer game. I was reffing and his had been trouble almost all game. Anyway, he had a yellow card that coulda been a red, but I let it slide (yellow=caution, red=ejection, two yellows make a red), and then w/ about 12 minutes left in he game he goes a pretty hard foul from behind on a guy. Woulda yellow carded anyone for that, but it was his second yellow so I showed him the yellow card, then the red card. As I was putting the card away I saw movement then a flash fo flesh color and some pain. It knocked me back about a step, then I took a knee and blew for the end of the game.
2 hours in the ER, 4 stiches, one police report and 3 days later is what you see

Don, I see your points, but I hold no reservations against the Hispanics of the San Carlos league.
I would never sue the team, he is not the team, and the team doesn't agree with what he did, and lots verbally expressed that to me before I went to the ER. The guy who did it probably was arrested Tuesday at work and they will be sending him to trail soon enough. I will probably get some compensation for lost wages (couldn't red my second game) and he will pay for my ER bill. I hope that is the way it works out, at least. As for soccer, he will never play in that league again, in the state he is looking at 2 to 10 years of not being able to play.

CA is very different then WA, CA has the Hispanics crammed in with everyone else. There is a pretty low % of he population this is Hispanic in WA, so it doesn't seem so overwhelming. Hell, the most I ever see are at the San Carlos league. I know a lot that grew up in WA and are just as much American as you or I. One guy from the team of the guy that hit me came up afterwards before I left and told me that he probably wasn't going to play for that team or in the league ever again because he does not want to be associated with ANYTHING like that. He is a great soccer player, too. I will go back to reffing in that league.

Second, about soccer riots and stuff, I don't think most Americans understand what soccer is to the rest of the world. It is not a sport, it is a religion. We have religious wars all the time, and to many people in other parts of the world soccer and religion are one in the same. Soccer games have started wars (Britian and Argentina I think it was). Most of the riots you see are British, and those are mostly about 8-15 years old. England was in a nice depression at the time and basically the young working class male vented about his crappy life by going and getting pissing drunk at a soccer game then start ****.
A lot of other riots at soccer games are due to other things that happen when you pack like 10,000 people into a stadium and something goes wrong (aka, fire, smoke bomb, sumfin), just that is not always what they show on "Reality" TV.

The problem stems with those who want to live in America but not be American. Just like any other ethnic group, problems happen when they hold fast to their 'roots'. Many of the immigrants who came to this country in the past were very proud of being 'American' and made sure their children grew up as American as can be. Oh well, I won't go on about this but I do want to remind everyone that we are not members of a gang and some of this talk is no better then the attitude the that guy had in the first place.

I don't condemn the mexican community for one action... however I do condemn them for shooting my friend and stealing his belongings afterwards (while his family was at the funeral)... I don't condemn them all though, there are a lot of good ones...

Demon....I know exactly what you mean by being able to spot the type miles away! They are easy to smell out! I ran into a few of them in the bad part of Tacoma with my wife last week. I just ignored them although i could have beat the shi! out of them but the wife would have been pissed! I'm kindof good at opening the can's of Whoopass because i have done martial arts my whole life, jujutsu in particular. So needless to say, a big part of me really wished i was there. However, I would never misuse what i know. Just part of being an adult. One way to keep from being trapped into the stigma of being racist is to judge the individual not the race! And don't get me wrong, Definatley not calling anyone a racist, just want to make a point. Look at that Jerks team mates, Doug even said that they wanted nothin to do with him after that incident. That's gotta account for somthing! Sounds like he had some charachter....too bad his team mate who attacked doug did not learn that quality! Anyhow, Doug is ok and nothin was too serious! As far as a monthly meeting, we should all hook up and do breakfast or somthing once a month at a central point? This whole summer i am taking a full load at school, but i will do my best to make some events. Consequently, I will not be able to make the 26th becasue the wife and I are in California and I had plans set for the 4th of july to go Mtn bikin all weekend. My convictions about what is happening in America today are strong. It has little to do with my manhood and alot to do with pride.

Im not a violent person by nature and avoid conficts if possible. I do know how to protect myself and most importantly my family with a variety of ways and means.

We, as a race and culture, are being methodically and systematically emasculated in this once great country that our courageous forefathers envisioned for us.

And we are not alone, either. The same thing is happening in many other western countries. There IS a reason for this. Rampant and uncontrolled illegal immigration.

I now have to be "tollerant" and "celebrate" or "embrace" diversity.

What if the United States were pouring its poorest, least educated citizens across the border into Mexico? Could anyone be fooled into thinking that Mexico was being "culturally enriched?" What if the state of Chihuahua were losing its majority population to poor Whites who demanded that schools be taught in English, who insisted on celebrating the Fourth of July, who demanded the right to vote even if they weren't citizens, who clamored for "affirmative action" in jobs and schooling?

Would Mexico - or any other non-White nation - tolerate this kind of cultural and demographic depredation? Of course not. Yet White Americans are supposed to look upon the flood of Hispanics entering their country as a priceless cultural gift. They are supposed to "celebrate" their own loss of influence, their own dwindling numbers, their own dispossession, for to do otherwise would be hopelessly racist.

I better get back to work, I think I have made my point. Sorry if the truth hurts.

Interesting converstion piece, I am glad to see it has progressed into a mature conversation by Cascade Crew members. I was afraid I was going to have to delete this topic after reading some of the first posts.

Craiger: I would of loved to of been able to either dodge the punch or something, and if I had the training you had he would of probably looked a lot worse then I did.
I have though about taking some martial arts at some point, and I am seriously thinking about finding a place to study up in Bellingham when I go to college up there.

410: Being you are not a member of the Cascade Crew it is your option to read this board. Yes, it is a public forum, BUT it is also a club oriented one. Since you are not a member I advise that if you plan on posting anything like that here again to serious consider how much you like being a member of Thirdgen. I am not defending my friends here, I am speaking as a moderator, and we do not tolerate posts like that on Thirdgen, and expecially not in my forum.

Please keep this point an intellectual thing for reading, which it has been very well. I find the topic great for the reason we all have to deal with it in our everyday lives.

There are no mexicans in Cascade because unlike cali and texas, there still aren't that many up here... yet if they wanted to be, they'd be accepted as one of the group. And I know of some who have views agreeable to whats being posted here too (they just don't drive F-Bodies)

Spanish can be a beautiful language...but when I walk into an american restaurant, GODDAMNIT I want to be able to UNDERSTAND the waiter telling me the specials (the mexican restaurants up here are great BTW, and they do not bother me, because they're a mexican restuarant)

Do you see the point though? **** 90% of the shools don't teach russian or german but there are russians and germans here... as well as norwegians and scandinavians... but we don't teach that... Washington is a very disverse state... there are also very large asian communities here... yet we also very rarely teach japanese or chinese
White Cops, Black Cops, Hispanic Cops, etc... doesn't matter they probably would all kick your *** if they had a good reason...

And for that sleeping with brothers and sisters and family and all that... sorry... but that shyt does NOT fly on TGO ... and its not always white people who do that...

As for myself, I never said anything about mexicans. I actually admire some of those so-called "mexicans". They do a job a white man just won't do. I know of very few people of any race that will work as hard as a "mexican" for 12 hours a day, in the beating sun. And for what? So their family back in mexico can have a better life.
I did say I would have opened a can of whoopass, and I would have. I'm 5'9" and weigh 124lbs. You always here about the little guys. When your as small as I am growing up in a gang area, it becomes an instinct. But the up side of my poor attitude is I can throw a 10' length of 1/2" steel chain over 20'.

As for what Aaron said, this is a public forum, and if the Admin starts getting complaints about the board we will lose it. I do not find one persons post as a reason to get into trouble. Second, if a new member comes in and starts reading the top post and starts reading what is being said I wouldn't post either.
Last, Thirdgen has over 8,000 members now and that can lead to some pretty darn good sponsorship... but if a sponsor is browsing the boards and goes, hey, that regional board has a lot of posts, well, look at that, a topic on fire right at the top... then goes... what the.... I do not want people associating my product with some of what is being said here I have some major butt kissing to do!

 

guess people can't express themselves openly or be themselves on this board anymore without someone complaining about it...

Ok I hadn't opened this thread til a friend made a comment about it. So, as always, I'm going to express my personal opinion.

No matter what ethnicity, if I would have been there, I would've beat down on that guy for taking a shot at my friend. As you all know from Ocean Shores, I'm not one to back down from a fight. Douglas is a friend and I would have tried to protect him. Aaron and I are both kind of like that.

As far as those of you knocking Hispanics, let me just inform you that as a person that employs Hispanics and "Whites", if I have a job available and I have a Hispanic and white kid both equally qualified for the job, I'd hire the Hispanic in a heartbeat. They are loyal, work harders and to be honest, the typical young white kid is lazy in comparison. However, like Hispanics, you can't judge all young white kids by the actions of just one.

Do I discriminate? You bet. My job is to provide my clients with quality. Point blank.

Oh, and about the shallow "hispanics and spray paint" comment...C'mon now, :raises hand: I'm guilty as hell of that when I was a teen. And the gang I hung out with was guilty as well. And there were like, umm...no Hispanics in our crew. We were good, too. I'll have to scan some pics.

On a lighter note, like Aaron said, Douglas does have beautiful eyes.

WOW!!!! Man I come and read some posts and see this. Everyone sso passionate. While I agree with most of the people that had I been there I would have protected my friend Doogie, I do not agree with the racist remarks, I do understand everyones points and truth be told I think them myself from time to time. Like when I pull up to carls jr and can't understand what the damned mexican people are saying to me. That upsets me, when I see good camaro's slammed to the ground with 2" rims and giant tire eaters stickout out the side, 4 decker wings and stupid mexican writing on it I think "what a waste of air" I, myself, am Hispanic being that I am Peurto Rican, But I feel no ties to Peurto Rico or any other place except for WA. Since I was born in Olympia and have ALways lived in the Great state of Washington. I also think teaching our children to speak Spanish, or celebrate Spanish independence in America is stupid. They should be americans or get the hell out, nuff said. This "Seperate but Equal" Crap is nothing but bulls.hit. It pisses me off to no end. ANyway I'm done ranting. On a lighter note I got married Yesterday! I'll post some pics I took with my digicam on another post.

Amorget, its good to see another soccer fan. I love the game. I think the problem here is not the guys ethnicity its the blatant lack of respect for officials in any game, be it soccer, hockey, baseball whatever. There are always stories of officials being abused verbally and physically at games. I think you did the right thing by not fighting back, hopefully the guy will face some serious charges because what he did was wrong. Like someone else mentioned above by keeping your anger in check you proved to be a bigger man.
