I saw the pace car today at the dealer where I bought my TA, words cannot describe this work, Dealer wants 22,000 though, I guess I found the ultimate T/A.

Its an Anniversary Edition, GTA, and Pace Car all in one ! lol

I will post pics of my recaro and the pace car tomorrow, Im smuggling the digital cam from work.

Emails on the way guys,

Have a Nice Day

Im just trying to get the best use out of this service, I have subscribed before when looking at used cars but It seems like a waste just to run 2 VIN's.

We picked up our new baby last nite, Im becoming **** about the interior, my kid has to wash his hands before he sits in the car rofl, can you say compulsive behavior ?

This has been asked before, I want to post pics this afternoon but copy paste wont work.

I don't know if I want to know... But I'll post my VIN when I get home. Do you have a place to host your pictures? If you don't e-mail them to me (88gta@transamgta.com) or Doug (Amorget) and we'll host them for you. If you do have a site to host them allready type it up like this:

{img}http://www.site.com/picturename.jpg{/img} only use [] instead of the {}

Thanks for the second report! Just goes to show CarFax isn't perfect. I am pretty sure my car was in a wreck at one time on the passenger side and that didn't show up. Though, I found I think I am only the 4th owner of the car... and one person owned it from 45k to over 100k.
Agian, thanks, its cool you are doing this for all of us!

Looking at the reports, the amount of times the title changes hands seems to be the only good thing about the service. I have yet to see one negitive report so far.

Hopefully you have time to run it through!

I think there should be 3 or 4 claims on it and 3 owners and I know the previous owner (before me) put TONNES of miles on it because he had a long hiway commute to and from work every day.

Holy ****, I just ran their quick check on my VIN and it says theres 11 things found for my car!!!

I wonder what they are!!

I know of 3 or 4 plus my 2 claims (2 vandalism claims) but theres more than that I guess!!!!!!

Okay, its fine...it was all emissions stuff (every time it goes through, it counts) and my car failed once (which i knew about, bad O2 sensor.) Speedy service there, thanks man!!

Emails OTW guys,

One of the catches of carfax is that they will run a prelim at no cost, then they say they have found something so right away they get your interest.

The car has been wrecked fairly badly at some point before I picked it up and it will be interesting to see what comes up on this report. The original owner is pleading ignorance and I'm the second owner. Too bad 9 years ago I was too stupid to recognize such things.

I've made three claims myself. One was to repair the door after my dad crunched it on the rock wall, which was a blessing in diguise because that's when I got the whole paint job done. Another was to repair a chip in the other door from a rock thrown by an 18-wheeler. And the last was to buff out the front and entire driver side after I hit the grand daddy of all tumbleweeds coming home from college. I mean, this thing was HUGE!!!! It was just as tall as the car and was growing tree branches. All I did was knock it down to 100 normal size tumbleweeds.

Hey Don, got the results back and I'm kinda surprised! I know that this car has spent time in WA and in CA, but it was also in HI and in Guam for awhile. There's nothing in the report to reflect that, as well as the possibly unreported/unchecked "salvage" sticker I found on the windshield after I got it.

But, thanks for thinking of us!!! We sure do appreciate it!

Don, that is the complete VIN. Unfortunately, and as I suspected, it appears that Car Fax can't deal with older VIN numbers, in this case my 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 2 door post. Oh well, thanks for trying.

CarFax Only goes to '81. I wanted to check my '79 Olds Cutlass But they wouldn't let me. Bastards.

ANd those 2 important things carfax wanted me to know is that it passed emissions in 99 and was reported have 103K on it in 1993. What a crock

Agreed gents, I give carfax a 2 thumbs down and would like to thank all who helped me reach this conclusion. Blue502's example showed the limitations of the database, and I apologize for suggesting that his vin was incorrect.

Carfux uses info that is avaialble to the public (if you know how to find it) and presents itself as a know it all, something that the crew has proven false.

Thanks for running mine man. It looks like mine had no problems although it was auctioned at one point which was kinda interesting. And I know that it had body work done to it (have the pictures from the last owner who bought it with the damage) but that didn't show up on it. Looks like Carfux ( as you so eloquently put it ) is over rated and what not.

I was hoping it would at least tell me how many owners my car had. I think I am the third owner. The first owner's name and address is in the hardly touched owners manual. It has remained local as the first owner lived in Gig Harbor, just across the bridge from me. As of '97, he had only put 35,000 miles on it! I'm guessing the second owner was a kid who probably didn't own the car for very long. There is evidence of a mega huge stereo install and the barley visible silouette of the words "BOW DOWN" on the rear glass.

Salvage/Junk Title States issue salvage titles when an insurance company takes possession of a vehicle as a result of a claim. This generally occurs after a vehicle has been declared a total loss. States issue junk titles to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again in that state.
Rebuilt/Reconstructed Title The vehicle sustained damage and was rebuilt or reconstructed, then placed back on the road.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Failed Emissions Inspection The tests and inspections performed at a specific emissions check indicated the vehicle was emitting more than allowable emissions standards and/or had missing or modified parts. An emissions failure, even if the vehicle passes at a future date, generates a Failed Emissions Record in the Carfax database.
