New Fiero?

I've heard rumors that this will be the new Pontiac sports car, since the F-body platform is (maybe) dying.

If they calmed it down a bit (like the do from showroom model to real car) and made it more sleek I'd own one eventually. Especially if there is no Firebird and only Camaros... then I'd have a choice between Mustang or that... and I'll take that any day.

Besides, a RWD, mid engine, 5.7 liter 300+ HP roadster would be absolutely nothing to mess with...

Seriously though... what respecting V8 drag racing muscle car owner would want to buy that euro autocrossing weenie mobile? Design freaks scare me. Let the engineers own the design process again. That's when cars get wicked... that's when cars feel American.

Umm... Doug?? if they make that as the next pontiac birdychikkin thingy... it'd be doubtful that it'd be an LS1 ... it'd prolly be a I6 or something lol (ok not that I'm bitching, the new I6's are sweet)

Damn, that sucks John!

Hey, I only said if it was a mid-engine V-8 I'd buy it... well... even if it only has 4 cylinders I'd take it over the Camaro... Seriously though, that is the style of the new cars, I like it a lot more then most of the retro crap. Prowler was sweet, needed a V-8, then came the PT Cruiser and Ford Thunderbird (saw a few in MI, UGLY!!!) and the retro lost all appeal...

I dunno if I will or not. I'll find out in a couple more weeks. but I'm selling part of my 84 Camaro and my bike. 400 for the bike the tranny and bellhousing for 300, and my weiand stealth intake for 60 so far on ebay.
So at least I'm getting some semblance of income.

Found the link.

Looks like it's a 2.2L 4 banger with 147hp/150ft-lb. Ugh. Maybe Pontiac is going to go after the import sports car market.

Sorry to hear that John.
