Car Audio

Alright ladies and gents, lets see some of the crews stereo equipment.

I used to have a single 10" Sub powered by a Kenwood 240 watt mono amp (now in the possesion of BLACKACID) that pounded pretty well(considering it was just one 10). I'm looking to get back into some bass (or at least a better quality of sound, our stock **** sucks!) and I'm not sure what I'm gonna do yet. What do you guys suggest?? I know lots of bass will basically rattle my car into pieces, so I'm pretty much ruling out the idea of getting 4 15"s So any stereo related pics/info you might have, post em, I need help!! (and I prefer it from you guys, not the Car Audio board)

Well, I only have one suggestion. Dynamat. No matter what you decide to do, it is money well spent (good thing I didnt have to buy it)

I dont really care much for rattle my head off bass, but, I have this setup in my car.

Pioneer full size deck.
2 - Kenwood 4x6s in front
2 - Peerless 6 1/2 in sails
2 - Pioneer 6x9 2 ways in the back (see pics)
2 - Rockford Fosgate 6 1/2s in seperate boxes.

This is pretty much a temporary set up, but right now it suites ME just fine. And stereo is the last thing on my list of stuff to do to my car. First it goes much much faster, then it will look better.. then, it will get faster. Maybe sometime something new will go into it stereo wise

hmmm. I had 2 10" orion cobalt subs powered by a 600Watt Kenwood amp Well that was Before someone decided they would like that set up more than me so now its time to go for a new setup. Plans are to find an amp that will power my 2 10" rockfords.. But still have a bit to go before it is installed. Being a student and onlyh working about 2 twice a month just doesn't cut it... no matter how good the pay is

Well, I'm a feign for bass, so I've got 12" JBL woofers in the back. Powered by a 400 watt amp. Pioneer 6x9's in the sail panels and 4x6's in the dash, powered by another amp. Not sure on the wattage but I believe it's 150x2. I still have the stock deck and I loved it until it started eating tapes. Now, I'm looking at the Pioneer deck that Joe has. GM fit and very nice. I'll have to post pics of my set up sometime.

82, what kind of enclosure are you using for your 12's? Or are you just using a plate?

I've got the subs mounted in the rear, flush in the door that lifts to the small storage area (where both of my amps are). The enclosed area underneath serves it's purpose for the subs. I'm talking about the unusual carpeted and hinged door, not the small plastic storage area on the left.

Boooo Yahhhhhh! Like this?! I got bored the other night... I love this deck, I just wish I could get one that played the cd-rw/mp3 discs in full size DIN. Oh well.

Actually, only older Camaros and Firebirds got them, if I remember right. I haven't seen a car after 85 I think that has one stock. Course, maybe it was only older Camaros, because I don't think I have ever seen a older Firebird with one either.

I think sometime we need to get the crew together for a decibel drag and see who's stereo can put out the most DBs!

2 Soundstream SPL 3way 6*9 that cost me 300$ a piece.
1 infinty 10" sub 1400 watts peak, running a kenwood 300 watt amp to it right now
1 pioneer premier 45*4 cd deck
that's what i got and it kicks *** .

It would be louder if i ran an amp to my 6*9s because they are 2 ohm 6*9 and if you run an amp to them it allmost doubles the amps output.
