slayer,

Were they painted white? or was that from the sanding? And how did you do that? I am guesing that you used 400 wet dry and then went up to 1200, then used some polishing compound (mothers) and a orbital ?

Well, I havent done the polishing yet, so the sanding down I actually used a 220 grit wet/dry to get rid of knicks and so on. After that I used the 400 grit to smooth it out. That's as far as I've gotten so far, I'm gonna use the 800 grit as well as the 1500 grit, then I'm gonna use some industrial metal polish I got from my friends at Kal-Tire. The rims were painted white by the previous owner... who knows why!?!? anyway, I used some Aircraft paint remover from the local Lordco here in Maple Ridge, but you can also get it at Walmart. I will post more pics when they are complete so you can see the finnished product.

Jay
