What's wrong with it!?!?!

Some guy is selling a 95 LT1 complete motor with out water pump and oil pan/filter. He's asking $650 cdn. I've seen these engines sold for up to $1000 US or more... $650 cdn is nothing, so he's either very stupid or there is a serious problem. It's in the buy&sell if any local boys wanted to check it out. I would buy it, but I don't have the knoledge to do an engine swap myself. Sucks, because I would love to have that engine.

I saw it too... Chances are it was a typo, they probably for got the 1 as in $1650 otherwise he is stupid. If I believed it was really $650 I wouldv'e phoned by now; OTOH if there's nothing wrong & it is the right price someone is getting a good deal.

Heck, even if there was something slightly wrong, it's probably fixable. (perhaps). I'd turn the engine over a couple times by hand and listen to it.. But I agree, it's either a typo. or he is not very educated on engines.

Well, I sent a msg already, asking for more info on it, because if it's $650 and nothing really wrong with it, it's an awsome deal. I notice the same guy had a '95 T56 & T5 for sale for $700 for both... I just think he's a little slow on the uptake.

The guy is for real, I emailed him and he responded today. I think the engine is pretty much usless for us because of this... I will post his message.

"The engine for the camaro came out of a 95 camaro in an accident....Kms are approximately 136 km give or take a 1000.....The engine harness was destroyed in the accident.......Sorry but the starter and computer are a
total different sale.....I am home all day Sunday and the engine will be on a hoist to view.......In the ad I said the pan was damaged but I purchased the parts that were damaged to make the engine complete.....All it needs is an oil pan gasket.......Engine is complete minus the water pump"

Without the harness or computer the engine is pretty much a paper weight isn't it?? So I could see if you're replacing a toast LT1 but for me to buy it.... even if it is only $650 it's usless without the computer. Correct me if I'm wrong that is.

Good idea;Slayer you should check out Langley Discount; they're a GM only scrapyard, and probably will have the computer and harness. Tho they may charge big $$$$

Damn, should have taken money with me, 90mins after I was there, someone came with cash and took it. Oh well, I'm in line for a 400 SB instead... I'm checking the details on it This time if I go to check it out, money is going with me.
