Phoenix Injector

If anyone is interested in one, the best place I've found so far is on Ebay from this guy- ' V-12powered '

http://stores.ebay.com/V-12powered_W...enameZl2QQtZkm

They are refurbished units from the factory, and come with a warranty.

I bought the MaxPro-205 and got it the other day, but it's missing 2 bottle covers. (For hookin' it up straight to brake fluid bottles.) Hopefully, he'll send 'em to me quickly, but that doesn't stop me from usin' the rest of it.

The only other problem is that he charged an extra $10 for shipping to hawaii. It's still a good deal overall, but $35 shipping for a 2 lbs. small box through USPS Priority (or was it 1st class...) is ridiculous! I'll double check the box, but I was expecting UPS. (My sister opened it for me before I got home so I didn't check.)

So, I paid $160 for the "pro" version with the full accessory kit shipped. The "home" version, should be around $60 ~ $70 depending on how many he has listed, and if he'll keep charging more for hawaii deliveries. Looks like the V12 comes with the full kit also, so that'd be the best deal.

I haven't tried mine yet, because I stupidly forgot that I have a check valve in my bleeder screws, so I can't use the referse-flush option without switching them. (Then, I'd have to switch them back and re-bleed from the top if I wanted to keep those solo-bleeders.)

I'll try the "pressure bleeding" straight from the reservoir tomorrow or tuesday night. If anyone has stubborn brakes that need a good bleeding, let me know and you can use mine.

The guy got back to me this morning.

"Those caps are replaced with the large cone adapter. All new Phoenix kits are shipped this way. The cone adapter fits more bottle necks. The manual has not been updated. You are good to go.

Jon"

I was wonderin' what that thing was for....

If someone already has Speed Bleeders installed, can the reverse bleeding machine be used with those? Doesn't seem like much time is saved if they have to be changed first...

I don't remember how speed-bleeders work. I know the solo-bleeders just use a simple ball & spring check-valve so you can't push any fluid up through the screws. If speed-bleeders have anything that prevents reverse flow, then you can't use "RFI" (Reverse-Fluid Injection), which is one of the unique things about it.

If you change screws, I think you'd get air in the lines and have to rebleed from above. Unless, with the reservoir cap on, the atmospheric pressure holds everything in place. I don't remember any fluid leaks when I switched screws....

You can still bleed the whole system right from the reservoir. Or, use the vacuum bleeding which should work fine with check-valves in the bleeder screws. You can find a vacuum bleeder cheaper locally, though.

Craftsman also has some bleeding kit that looks similar. It's in their catalog and has some other things like a pressure gauge and it does vacuum and timing stuff also. I think it was $70~$80 or so. I don't see it on their website, so maybe I was just confusing a fancier vacuum bleeding kit with something else.

The new universal bottle top thing they have (a stubid rubbery cone) doesn't seem to work well. Though, I haven't called the company about it yet so maybe I'm just stupid and can't figure it out.

Their instructions haven't been updated yet (as far as I know) so that piece isn't explained in my booklet.

I gotta contact them because it's really annoying me. I think their older pieces would work much better....

I'll give a real review once I actually use it for a thorough bleed or flush. I was planning to put my old stock screws on to reverse bleed the system, but I can't get to the rear screws too easily because they are recessed. I'll figure something out.
