Check the Island Previews website, www.islandpreviews.com. I think there are a few guys selling 350's on there, though they might be from trucks or something. Another place to check is the Forums Hawaii site, www.forumshawaii.net in the Chevy / Pontiac / Olds, etc section.

I got a 305 I'm trying to get rid of, if you want it you can have it for free. Its an L03 engine with the kinda junk 187 heads. Engine is minus TBI intake, the distributor, and the serpentine belts, but its free.

Yup! hahaha! If nobody takes it I'm gonna take it apart and re-assemble it for a "learning experience" hahahaha.

Actually, that's a good idea! I did that to a Ford 260 I had a long time ago! Fun stuff!

Sounds like a fun little science project. Let us know if it runs afterwards.

Depending on your needs, I'd recommend getting an '87-up roller block.

thinking of picking one up off this guy from forumshawaii who pulled it from an 89 Caprice. if its already out of the car is it pretty much a gamble if it will run or not or is there a way i can check

I've been at wrecking yards where they started engines sitting on the ground. Just pour some gas into the carb, connect battery to starter and rev it up. Kinda funny watching a big v8 jump around from torque impulses...

Thats Dan's engine, out of an old caprice cop car. I would at the very least, tear it down and put new rings and bearings in it...

He was unsure of mileage, and understanding a police car's life... well, you can draw your own conclusions...

I understand the trans will need to be rebuilt... so keep that in mind...

As I understood it, he had harness and ECU as well, so it's all in all, a good deal.

Dang, Ed, that just about made my sides split. Of all the hairbrained things one could do... I'm assuming that everyone stays clear of the ground-bound motor if it decides to jump around a bit, right? I wouldn't want it toppling over and crushing my foot or smashing a kneecap, you know?
