Water pump changed

Ho boy, Buick stuff is wierd... Replaced the pump, pretty simple once I figured out all the little details, but it took us all day to do. My wife was really good at getting the stuff that was underneath. Note to the wise - do not try to remove the pump bolts without trying to get the pulley off first, this isn't your typical SBC water pump. Three of the nine bolts are underneath the pulley, and one of them is really long and can't be removed fully with the pulley attached. Fun day, I even have the sunburn to prove it!

Heh, first time I've heard of someone trying to remove the water pump without removing the pulley first ... especially because the water pump belt holds the pulley from turning while those 10-mm pulley bolts are cracked loose.

Yup, lesson learned there... The wife was invaluable for getting the lower intercooler bolts off and keeping me sane. Having a second pair of hands, eyes and brain lobes is priceless.
