9bolt

Needs a good home or otherwise. Posi/limited slip carrier. From factory with 3.27 gears. Posi unit is good but bearing(s) make a lot of noise. Driver side axle possibly bent. Gears have a wear ridge, unless you want to run 3.73 good luck on finding ring and pinion at a decent price. I did not take the axle to work and do a shaft runout. I had a hard time removing the brake rotor and axle. BFH to remove rotor and car jack to pop the axle out. 160k miles is the reason for the price. I don't want to try and make a buck when it may give another a problem.

Price is the cost of your gas to Fort Worth.

It is a Chevy. It aint perfect but the carrier gave no problems at all. Slight vibration at 70+ and probably supports my thoughts that the one axle is tweaked...not much but still tweaked I think. I don't want to ship this thing, easier to just haul it off.

I don't know how much stronger it is in real terms. Unless wanting to go from an open 9bolt to a posi 9bolt I am not sure the strength increase is worth the expense. Parts are expensive when you can find them. If strength is a real concern go with a 9 inch ford or 12 bolt Chevy.

How good is the posi? I have a 9 bolt but 2.77 gears, not a good combo with my engine, and plus the overdrive with my 700R4. Going 70 on the expressway pulling between 1200-1500 RPM's is pretty much lugging my motor. Would the 3.27's work with my rear, is it a series 1 or 2 carrier??? Let me know if you are willing to part it.

It will fit your car and was fine when removed three weeks ago with exceptions noted above. I dont want to fool with taking it apart and shipping.

Too bad that it wont help much in durability. I already have a solid 60' time which means im lauching alittle too hard at the track and that is all on a stock L98 motor, stock 700R4, and a stock 3:23 rear end. Of course when I get the motor back in with another 50-75 horses in motor mods and I up the nitrous and I get my TH350 with transbrake and 3500 stall i am risking blowing up my rear end. Shoots if it was stronger than my 10 bolt and would easily go install instead of swapping i would send you a butt load of money and just ship it and keep the rest. But i understand it is a pain to ship things but cash in pocket is cash in pocket ya know Good luck on sale. I will let Z28.com buddies know of your sale and maybe they might want it
