need help TPI dieties.

does anyone use the tremec trans in their f-body i'll be looking for a trans when i grenade this one and am thinking tremec tko/3.45 9bolt not to crazy a nice launch ratio and wont pull it out of my powerband.....all answers welcome

87 trans am 350,L98 aluminum heads,LT4 hot cam,slp runners,slp 1 5/8 headers,3in.y-pipe,edelbrock base,hi flo cat,air foil,afpr,as&m ported plenum,t-5 tranny w/centerforce clutch and a 3.27 9bolt(11.9in. brakes),ed wright's fastchip,relocated iat sensor,tb bypass,accel supercoil,hollowed maf,slp 3in. catback,a/c delete(she's on a diet,get me down tto 3200 like a ford and it'll lift off.

14.10@97mph w/2.01 60'

slp catback is finally on!!!
fastchip prom is in.OH!MAN!

They're a pretty good value, Pete, IMHO.

Do they make an 18 deg. canted trans. or does a 3rd gen have to go w/ a straight up one?

They have a 2.95 first gear version?

Those Tremec TKO Transmissions are great. They should install in place of a T5 without any modifactaions nessassary. Yes, the TKO and the 3.45 gears should be perfect for your car.

By the way, PETE, did you have any trouble installing your SLP runners? I have heard some guys having trouble with the alternator bracket.

The tremec isnt a direct replacement. Do a search, I believe you may find a post or two.

i was told my mike forte in an email that all i would need is a crossmember. the third gen's Tremec TKO uses a t-5 bellhousing.

even asked a few questions about the tranny and the stock crossmember canbe modifiedyou hhaveto lengthen the slots for the bolts to slide it back some cause thetremec trans mount is further back thanthe t-5.as for the slp's theyy fit great withthe exception of that stupid long bolton the bottom a real crappy idea i will be siamesing them completely soon...
