9-bolt Gears Wanted (3.45)
If anyone has new or good used 3.45 gears for the 9-bolt rear, please let me know.
Needed ASAP in order to get rear back together and back into the car.

Indeed I do know, we all do.
That is why I'm here asking.
That leaves me stuck with either the existing 3.27's or dropping down to the available 3.70's neither of which are optimal for the car.

Might be better off with the 3.70s, though I know you say the 3.45s would be optimal. Someone was selling a 3.70 set for $150 the other day. Difference is fairly minimal, even less so than going from 3.42s to 3.73s (by a little bit
).
Obviously you know this though, just a little input and a free bump

Trying to build the car to be a freeway hauler instead of a 1320 blitzer.
I really want to embarrass the hell out of five (uh) oh's in the real world of street fighting.

I just bought a LS1 rear w 3/42s for $150. That replaced my 9-bolt with busted 3.45s. You should consider the swap. Better brakes, and they are used in LS1 cars that aren't weak. And the best part is, IF you do break it, you can actually get parts and repair it. Just a suggestion.

Oh yeah, you can also look for 3.42 gears for that 9-bolt. I found a set for $80 a couple months ago. Then decided to swap the whole thing.

The 9-bolt is known to be stronger then the 7.5" 10-bolt.
As for the better brakes, I already have the 11" PBR setup for the rear to go with the 13" C5 setup up front.
I'm just looking to use the existing 9-bolt temporarily to get the car up and running. In the meantime, a moser 12 bolt will be the next step (450hp/500ftlb 383).

"9-bolts are stronger" You are right. Mine lasted to 180,000 hard miles before the teeth seperated from the ring and pinion. It was easier for me to get and change my whole rear that it was to get a good set of gears for the 9-bolt. I just thought I would throw out an option. Good luck on your gold hunt.
