thinkning pcmforless?
for as long as i can remember... since the installation of my LT4 hot cam at least, my car has suffered from "fish bite" when trying to maintain a steady speed. it runs pritty smooth an strong @ WOT but something about maintaining 45mph just doesn't appeal to it.
used to it ran real rich and had no top end. if you were pushing it past 3800, you may as well forget it. it's like hitting a wall.
i've replaced the distributer-up, plugs/wires, o2, tps, and iac. i've removed all smog and egr. now the car isn't running rich (the iac fixed that) and the fish bite isn't quite as bad but still remains. further, the car still runs very strong up to around 3800 but dies after that... is all this due to my making modifications and not reprograming? and would pcmforless be a good solution for me?

if you want a proper tune, save the money you were going to spend for a mail-order and pick up an ALDL cable, burner, some flash chips and an adapter.

I wouldn't do PCMforLess with a heads and cam, spend the cash and get a proper dyno tune. I had a PCMforLess in my stock LS1 and they really woke it up, but I wouldn't trust their tune for anything much more over stock or bolt ons - too many variables.

Re: thinkning pcmforless?
Dyno shops that tune the old TPI are becoming few and far between nowofdays is the main problem it seems (at least within 300 miles of my area). I got a chip from pcmforless and I am happy with it and I plan to use them when I do my heads and cam too. Alvin Anderson seems to know his stuff and since I don't have a dyno shop or the know how to tune it myself, I guess it is up to them. (BTW, I do plan to send them a datalog so he can tune accordingly since I do have an ALDL cable and tunerpro for my laptop).

Re: thinkning pcmforless?
i dont have any tuning software and really no knowledge on tuning proms myself. i know that theres ALOT of info on here about what to buy and how to do it but i just dont trust myself to tune my own car with no previous experiance.
and i dont have a dyno in my area to take my car too. ive heard some good things about pcmforless and im thinking about just giving them all my specs and mods and seeing what happens. one things for sure it will be better than what i could do myself.
