Engine: twin turbo 406
Transmission: th400 w/brake 4400 stall
Axle/Gears: 3.42s
how to swap a 700r4 for th350/powerglide
for those of you looking to do the swap you will need a couple parts
bmr torque arm relocation crossmember- part #TCC018R(has many points on the crossmember to raise/lower torque arm, so it also serves as an adjustable torque arm. well made piece and worth the money)
energy suspension poly torque arm bushing- part # UPI-3004 (part number brings up a umi part but it says energy suspension on it)
converter for a th350- i used a b&m 3k holeshot
shifter for th350- im using a megashifter

parts you can use-
transmission mount
driveshaft- it will need lengthened 3 inches for short tail, or you can use the stock one for a long tail.
now would be a good time to replace the u joints while its being lengthened

its a very straight foward swap and easy to do.
THE B&M 350 INSTALL KIT DOES NOT WORK, UNLESS YOU HAVE A LONG TAIL TH350
i bought this first, the torque arm did not line up right with the short tail
i will add pics to show it all installed and i pic of the driveshaft after its lengthened.

If you use the search feature, you'll find that if you use a long tailshaft TH350, your 700R4 driveshaft is the proper length. A short tailshaft TH350 needs a driveshaft 3" longer. I have no idea why yours needs to be 5" longer.

I had the long tailshaft TH350 in mine and swapped back to a 700R4, same driveshaft.
Also the B&M kit that was there worked fine.

if you use the driveshaft,torque arm,tranny x-member.
from an '82 with th200 or super T-10,along with aB&M
torque arm kit,TH 350 is a near bolt in.

I will have to measure the tailshaft. Not sure why my b&m bracket didnt line up right then. May be the same reason my driveshaft needs an extra 5 inches? Its one of the universal 350s that has a couple different bolt patterns on it.

It is 3 inches, i had the driveshaft shoved all the way in before.
