0 - 63Mph

Greetings from Sweden

I have a small question for you Pontiac TA experts reading this forum

My Trans Am GTA -87 350TPI, needs almost 7sec to accelerate from 0 to 100 Km/h (0 - 63Mph).

I planned getting a Vortech or ATI compressor, but buying and installing one would cost more then the TA itself

NOS is "not" an option in my car!

So what can I do to increase the effect without spending too much cash¿ Thx :hail:

I know there are mechanics over there or maybe yourself that are competent enough to do the following. I would recommend a purchase of the new GM L31 heads (with performance spring upgrade), the new high performance, specially adapted (to work with L31 heads), lower "base" TPI manifold, and GM HOTT cam and GM rockers from www.sdpc2000.com ( a GM race parts dealer). Then a set of the siamese style SLP TPI "runners" for your manifold, a larger throttle body with 52mm openings (Edelbrock/BBK), K&N air filter, B&M transmision torque converter part# 70419 (I included this part# because they are hard to select), March performance under drive pulley or pulleys (which ever is offered for your application), a Hypertech thermomaster; chip, thermostat, and fan switch all from www.summitracing.com . I believe the price of these items may be less than the blower and its installation. also, I have listed two different companies here because first of all I believe they both can ship overseas, secondly because one has some of the parts needed and the other has the rest of them. this should solve your acceleration problems.

if all you are concerned about is 0-100KM & not mileage or streetability, then Converter, Rear Gear & some tires ought to make a BIG dent in that 0-100KM time. The flip side is mileage, & wear on the tires.

I though about suggesting gears but most gta's have 3.08's-3.42's wich is sufficient for intitial acceleration as well as for a european guy that likes to try to go 200+ KPH on the open road
