supercharging a 305!
supercharging a 305!
Can you do that without replacing all the internals. I am prob buying a 91 GTA in the next couple of weeks with a 305 and want to know how long would it last supercharged. What needs to be replaced if anything? Whats a safe amount of psi to run? How much power roughly do you gain with each psi turned up? Any help would be appreiceiated.
around 100,xxx miles right? i'd say if the motor is in good shape (no blowby, not leakind like a siff, no knocks) then you should be alright. replacing engine parts is never a bad idea. seals, springs, cams, and stuff like that wears out. try to replace whatever you can (as far as money will go
) and put a charger on it. prolly keep boost down to 6 or 7, not sure though. as far power per boost, depends. cam, heads, compression, intercooled. too much to guess. shoot out some more specs. (ie: model of blower)

What kind/series of super charger would be goodfor a 305 TPI, auto. Ask any questions at all if you need more details. It already got flowmasters, and headers and a few other mods.
BTW; i'm making my offer on the car tomorrow, so wish me luck!!
