On a typical 100hp shot you should see around a 100hp gain, but torque will increse more than hp.Torque increases more than the HP rating of the jets.
just remember
build for torque and horsepower will take care of itself
also when you hit the nitrous button or activate the n20 however you have it set up that is your torque peak
its all downhill from there!!!

Well the HP gain is going to DEPEND on the system you use..
NX rates their kits at the rear wheels...
NOS rates their kits @ the flywheel..
Torque is a HUGE factor w/ nitrous... you will get gobs of it..

so then wouldnt the nx kit be better then?...tpi makes pretty good torque as it is so i guess im good....
Since NX rates their kits at rwhp would this mean that they are much harder on the engine? So you could run a 120hp shot on a NOS kit and it would be the same as a 100 shot on the NX kit?
Also does anyone know what the max hp recommendation on a 305 for the NX kit?

Anymore than that and you will need to upgrade fuel system and possibly upgrade the motors internals.
About the Torque question,
A buddy of mine with a 98 Z28, MM stage 2 heads, cam, headers, exhaust and 3600 stall dynoed 408RWHP and 480RWTQ, N/A. On the 150 shot with no bottle pressure he got 480RWHP and 623RWTQ.
His car is a monster, looks bone stock with SLP dual on the left exhaust making it look like a V6 Camaro till you hear the motor.

"NO BOTTLE PRESSURE"
i think you may want to re phrase this given thats its a pressure orientated system i find it highly unlikey that this car made
what about seventy or so more hp and about 150 ft lbs of torque
by adding nothing but fuel!
just a thought!

Ok, I should re-phrase that to "Not enough Bottle Pressure".
He had around 800-900psi instead of the normal 1100-1200.
He doesn't have a bottle heater.

Seriously, I want to go forged internals before I give it the "big" shot. I'll do a 2 stage setup with what I have now if I don't get the forged parts right away.
50 shot primary and 100 shot secondary.

yea the tpi falls on its face above 4500 but thats were the happy gas comes into play
id hit the juice after i shift into 2nd and let off the gas at 5200 so the last few hundred rpms can clean out the cylinders so i dont load up them up with the spray

just a note, most people prolly know this but some dont,
nos = torque is good, but I think more accuratelly: nos = Cylinder pressure.
remember that nitrous is infamous for its crazy-high cylinder pressures, especially at lower RPMS and especially with "computer cams" (wide LCA cams) if you have a stock head-gasket its easy to blow it hitting the N20 too early or not retarding your timing enough... you can see 250/300 PSI if your not carefull enough....

almost right
n20+FUEL= cylinder pressure=torque(which over time equals horsepower)
remember
nitrous by itself is good for well
nothing but making you sick if you inhale it (automotive grade anyway)
happy racing

Almost right
N20 + Fuel + Air (O2 / Nitrogen / Argon / Carbon Etc..) = Yadda Yadaa
we can do this all day, but I think the fuel part is obvious

Average results for an NX kit is their advertised horsepower, and almost double that in TQ.. My 150 wet shot added 148.1 rwhp and 295 ft-lbs of torque.
