Nos Kit#5115 Converted To Tpi

Is there a way to convert this kit NOS # 5115 which is for a ford . It is a dry system that uses the fpr to add the etra fuel for the n2o . I herd that the ford fpr uses differnt pressures with there fpr . Will this work on a tpi with our fpr . Or is there a way to make it work . Sorry for such a long post .

I have always used the ford #05115 NOS kits on TPI cars. Nos will tell you even (if you can get ahold of them) that the jetting and all is right. you are going to run the 75 hp shot? just make sure you follow the instructions carefully, I have seen people misroute the lines that go to the regulator because it looks better hooked up a different way or miswiring the system. the hobbs switch will need to go to the fuel test port and the shrader valve must be removed (as per the instructions) but some other pieces may need to be found to hook the shrader to the hobbs depending on how old the kit is. If you dont have the destructions, order a set through NOS or summit. dont confuse them by telling them its going on a chevy. about injectors, consider replacment of those crappy gm injectors with some affordable ford units. not because you are using a ford system but because the stock GM injectors are prone to a threshold pressure lock, in other words when subjected to the higher PSI increases associated with FMU's on blowers or pressure risers on dry manifold nitrous systems the injector will close during a normal pulse and fail to reopen every time and some times fail to reopen at all until pressure goes back down. this causes a dangerous lean condition. I hate to admit it but the ford ones have a higher threshold than I have been able to beat. with prices on gm injectors being close to $500 and the ford ones being about $200 it is sad to admit needing a ford part for your chevy. 19#'ers for you 305 guys or 24#'ers for you 350's (some do 24# in 305's and 30# in 350's). I make this recommendation for ANY dry nitrous and SERIOUS blower/turbo users utilizing an FMU. If anyone decides to tell you that ford and chevy injectors are rated at different pressures please read
THIS!

I also want to install N2O on my car. I also have a SuperRam. Could you let me what you end up doing. I have talked to many people and still don't know what system to get. I am in a car club MotownMuscle.com. Some of the guys are running between 9.5 and 11.0. There are alot of LS1 and LT1 cars. I am running 12.96 at 110.mph. I am trying to get into the 11.5 to stick up for us 3rd gen guys. I know I will not be the fastest but will be in the top 20%. I have 24 lb SVO injectors and a 255 fuel pump.
I hope it works for you so you can post for us other guys with Superram who don't know what to do.

I too have a superram and the dry choice seemed to me the way to go.

B4CTom what you said was along what I was thinking. I had talked to about 15 different people and everyone said no can do. Only you, Greg at Detroit Speedworks and myself though this would work. Thanks for posting.

Bozo if I can scrape the money together I may try it next week. If I do I will let you know.
B4CTom what is the biggest shot you have run on the 5115 kit. I want to try a 150 shot. But will use a 100 most of the time. This will only be used at the track a few times a year. Would that be safe.

mostly the 75 shot, I ran the 100 but even with timing adjusted and race gas it detonated. but the 75 worked flawlessly added a bunch of power and torque.

What about the Zex mustang kit? Other than being purple, it seems pretty good. Any ideas?
