K you got me this is a plan I have but I'm starting with a crate motor that puts out 330Hp. This is just going to be a street engine where gas is not an issue and driving long distances will not be done. This engine I found is a little over 2Gs. I just have a questions about the superchargers. If the engine puts out about 330hp what else do you need for it to run the supercharger?

It all depends on what is in the motor(C/R,type of pistons,crank/rods/etc.). You'll have to give more info for everyone to help you.

I figure that I can get the cash by selling these monster heads to my bro for a G and selling the old 305 engine for 500+ or what ever someone might pay. Then save up the rest to by this. I was just wonder in the future is I wanted more power to this could I pop on a supercharger with no problem or would this motor not hold up to it?

you could get an inexpensive rotating assembly(forged) from the aftermarket...the only reason to go GM crate is the quality they put out. You could probably duplicate it cheaper though....IMO

Well I guess my basic question is that if you supercharge this New crate engine, the engine will be able to hold up to it. Its not going to be too much as long as the parts in the engine can hold up to the horse that the supercharger can raise it to right. Well I guess that should make sense.

on 6-8 pounds it should hold but remember those pistons are cast not forged they wont hold up forever with abuse....if you are gonna SC get a forged motor.a little extra cash now is a big insurance policy for you later.............

If so then consider the L31 crate shortblock (affordable), the souped up L31 heads the ones with the valvespring mod description (price is each) (affordable), GM HOT cam (lift listed is with 1.6 rockers?) (affordable)
