Can my motor handle nitrous? Please Advise
I am thinking of adding nitrous to my internally stock L98. It has just over 100,000 miles on it. It's had a recent ignition tune-up. What do I need to do to see if it will handle a smaller size shot? (75hp)
Compression test? What else? Thanks everyone.

dude....
it is pretty safe to say that your motor will be fried after using NO3.
but it will definately be fun on the way out.

no i think it is the actual chemical formula for NOS.
the N20 is a really stable molecule, and the NO3 is readily split allowing 3 oxygen molecules to be released into the combustion reaction.
with N2O you get one oxygen and 2 nitrogen. normal oxygen that is in the air is O2 because of the covalent bonds that oxygen likes to make.

also it is funner saying nitrous oxide, not nitrogen trioxide.
and you don't get fun words like NOS and NAWWSS from NO3, well maybe NOTHHHH.

I would say a compression check to verify your rings are in okay shape. With a 75 shot you should be okay as long as your rings are good.
With anything more I'd say a re-ring job as well as double head gaskets. Just to be safe. Other then that I'd say have fun!

75 shot isnt that large of a hit. use is wisely and as instructed and it might be ok
