TT project on hold. Buying bigger garage with a house.

But I'm gonna finish the drivers side downpipe which I tacked together yesterday. Gonna weld it up tomorrow. Then when I get my new house I'll actually have room to do some real work. This one car garage is killing me. If it's raining or real windy like it is today I can't weld anything cause I have to do it outside.

That's what I'm looking for. A 4 car garage or a big garage with attatched shop. I want lots of room. A basement would be nice to.

Thanks. I'm almost having second thoughts. I have an auto parts and muffler shop right across the street, and my paymnets are cheap. Might stay here. I'll know after today. Meeting the realtor to look at houses this morning. But a bigger garage sure would be nice.

Brad,

Are you going to finish the tt project? Also, you could always come over here and work on the car if needed! but then, you would have to yard most of the welding crap over here. You can buy our house..but then you would have to deal with our F....ed up neighbors.

Donno, I was kinda envying your just walking across the street and getting stuff... can't beat that.

Do you have room to expand the garage? One thing that has become blindingly obvious is that I want way more 'garage' space even though I just built what I thought was a house with a good size garage. The second thing along those lines is that you've got to build/buy WAY more house then I need to get even close to a decent garage space (enough room to work on one car and have parts of it off to the side, a bench...). I really need something the size of my garage to live in, and a garage the size of my house (a little over 2800ft^2)...

I decided to stay here for another year or so. I got it too good. The houses the realtor showed me sucked ***. I can't give up the convienance of my location. Everything is right here. So the TT project is back on. I got some money burning a hole in my pocket so it's time for more parts. Mainly a fuel system and a carb and bonnet and whatever else. Well that's sure a load off my mind. YES!!! Hey Craig, I'd buy your house but I'd have too many lumps on my head from hitting the ceiling in your garage. J/K

That's pretty much how I ended up building a house. The realor was a buddy of mine and it got to the point that he would open the door, duck his head in, come out and say "no way" and lock the door again. Seems like people are way too good at really screwing up what they've got.

Just call me spoiled

LOL, even tho I live a block from the police station, have old ladies across and beside me, couple of teens on the other side, in 5 years here the cops have been here twice for my sheppard barking. Whats funny is both times it has been in the summer, on a saturday with a yard full of kids under 13 running around playing with the dog. Not once have I been bothered for the Malibu, or working in the drive..(hell I have shot paint in the drive). The guy across and down one has had em there, but everytime hes had his stereo cranked. big time.

Any chance of adding to the garage? How about a shed off the back?

Must be nice. The bad thing about building what you want is that almost every new house around here comes with a HOA. I've gotten 2 notices in the last year (4 or 5 total) titled "Notice of Violation of Covenant.” for having car parts in my driveway for less then a couple of hours while working on my car. I’ve also gotten one for having them in the woods behind the house under a brown tarp (don’t have a clue what they were doing snooping around back there or how they even saw them, you can’t see them out my back window and I’m the only one with a clear view of the area, the area behind my property is a wetlands preserve that you couldn’t walk through no matter how hard you tried…(I sent to of the notices back to the HOA with BITE ME in big letters written across them).

According to the County property inspector, he’s gotten 11 complaints from the HOA about me and my project car (parked on the street in front of the house under a car cover, registered, insured, legal in every way). Cool guy though, the one time that I was actually in violation of something (one of my cars had expired tags) he sent me the required notice but when he talked to me he told me the day he’d reinspect and just asked me that I had the car parked in a way that he couldn’t see the tags from the street.
