Where can I buy a check valve?
Where can I buy a check valve?
To put between my intake and MAP sensor. This is for running a supercharger using Speed Density.
I know of a kit,
http://www.proficientperformance.co...Code=A10261-011
But it really seems like a ripoff for 140$.
I searched the posts and found out you could fabrivate one yourself with a t fitting and a check valve on one end?
Thanks,
Nik

Never mind! I found out its more that 11,5 psi.
Here's my situation. I want to install an A-Trim (around 6psi max) on my Speed Density '87 Mustang. The problem is that around 3500rpm the engine will bogg and I might also experience idle problems due to the MAP sensor not beeing able to read boost. In order to rectify the situation, I need to install a check valve on the vaccum hose between my intake and MAP sensor.
EDIT... Note: Under boost the FMU will variate the fuel pressure.
My question is, what cracking pressure should my valve have? A low one like 0.8 psi or higher like 2, 3 or 4 psi?
thanks,
Nik

Will a 2-bar MAP sensor work with your ECM? Might be a dumb question, I'm just not very familiar with the details of Ford ECM's.
I dont know if a 2 BAR MAP would work with my ECM, but if I where to do that, I might as well convert to MAF. I think GM has 2 and 3 BAR MAP's, right? As for for fords this is the only way I eard it was possible to resolve this problem. Seems it works on some engines and some other ones are more stuborn. In this case a MAF conversion is necessary. Its not that expensive.
I just wanted to know if I should buy a valve with very low cracking pressure to make sure the MAP doesn't need to read any positive pressure?

I understand that you will use an FMU to provide fuel enrishment under boost, even with the MAP 'blocked', but how will control timing retard? MSD BTM?
