Twin turbo TPI
Twin turbo TPI
I am thinking about doing a S/C or a Twin Turbo set up for my trans am. and was just wonering what all would I need to do differently as far the computer w/ a S/C compared toa TT setup. also would two turbos be better than one S/C ? I'm looking at around 10-15 PSI of boost depends what gas I'm running etc.
thanks
Josh
P.S. I did a search but couldn't find anything
thanks

1 Use a FMU to raise fuel pressure.
2 Swap to a 749. http://www.speedtoys.com/~bort62/7749/Index.htm
3 Go with DFI.
Supercharger is a bolt on with the proper kit. TT will require lots of time and skill as there is not a thirdgen kit atm. You will have to build it yourself. Of course you knew that since you did a search...
well I have two turbos laying around to get everything going. they have both been rebuilt and I was jsut thinking it would be cheaper to do TT than a S/C for $4000 for the kit w/ everything. and I know how to burn my own proms so that wouldn't be an issue. thanks for the help

If you already have the turbos, then check out posts by bhaas. In fact he may a set of headers to sell. Log style seems to work fine for most applications. At 10-15 lbs of boost a intercooler would be a good idea. Will it be cheaper to build then a SC is all relevent on what materials you use and how much you do on your own or pay someone else to do. My twin Eaton setup has cost about 800 to build. But I have done all the fabrication.
If you are proficiant at prom burning then the 749 would be your best option. It will control what you need and has the option of using P/H injectors with a change of the mosfet (injecter) drivers. SyTY guys are using +72 lb P/H with modified 749 ECMS.

As long as the IC is large enough to handle the heat exchange. One benefit the camaros have that the t/a's don't is an open grille, you'll be able to get the air flowing across the IC well in a camaro....................................
