Latest installment of the project.

Have modified the supercharger top, and drivers side ducting to the intercooler. Also added an idler pulley between the blower and the power steering pulley to get more belt wrap. Also the blow off valve can be seen under the duct to the TB. Little sheetmetal work to finish off the radiator.

Waiting for some parts to arrive but it should be running in two weeks. Picked up a set of 88 Turbo T bird hood scoops, and a top for the pass side blower. Thats the only thing holding things up ATM. thanks, Bob

With the frame notching and mini tubbing I can set 15x10's and some 12 inch wide DOT under the rear. The 9" has 3:50's, I really should change the T-10 from the 2:88 1st to a 2:46 1st. May also look into siamesing the runners and intake to "kill" a bit of low end. thanks, Bob

Ever think about retarding the cam a few degrees and lowering the rear gear a little. That'll give you a little punch up top with the intake and runners siamesed. With that frame it shouldn't be that bad(straight as an arrow). I would definately look into that and maybe a small 50 shot when it hits 2nd(it'll cool the intake charge and give back that lunge you'll lose off the line).......

Again! DAMN GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks fantastic. Your fab work is awsome, it all looks so nice.
I'm awaiting the final shot, and of course when its up and running.

Both pipes from the supercharger to the intercoolers are finished and painted. Started working on the filter box, cold air intake system.

Bob
Hey Bob,

My eaton project is coming along nicely, I've almost got the eaton mounted, I'm going to work on the belt system next then off to plumbing.

Anyway. I had a question about what type of pulley are you using. My Eaton (same model as you) has about approx 2 inch wide (not diameter).

I would like a pulley that can use the same belt as the rest of the car.

Also your eaton's have keyed noses right? if so do you need a special puller for them like the 3800's? My eaton is keyed and I don't want do damage the nose by pulling it off the wrong way.

< Thats great!

Anyway. I had a question about what type of pulley are you using. My Eaton (same model as you) has about approx 2 inch wide (not diameter).

< correct, its an 8 rib pulley. The GM belt is 6 rib, I am using the 8 rib pulleys for now. GM, Eatons IIRC have 6 rib pullys but are larger diameter.

I would like a pulley that can use the same belt as the rest of the car.

< This is what I have done. Current belt is 101 inches (101K6)

< Mines keyed. The pulley should be removed with a puller. Currently working on a drawing/fabricating a puller.

Thanks Bob,

I had the eaton bolted to the car on a mock up bracket and the hood shut yesterday, all is well. hehe

I've got a great woodworking shop so i made the mockup bracket out of wood. I'm trying now having it reproduced with .125 and .250 aluminum by someone who has better skills in metalworking than me.

I can't believe its fitting (93 Formula LT1), I just hope its enough for the car. Hopefully it will make at least 4psi.

The hood scoops are in and the second top came today. Colder than %$#@ and out of fuel for the torpedo. Figures.. lol cheers, Bob

yep I've got just enough room for a healthy output elbow, I'm going to just run a filter to the intake of the blower.

I'm thinking of using water injectino later. A friend is sorta pioneering it for me.. hehe

i'm seriously thinking of doing this... how exactly did you mount it... somehow to the valvecover studs? I see you turned them upside down and made a 'bonnet' of some sorts to gather the compressed air... how much boost can you pull out of one of those and how much are they where can i get one

< No. It's bolted to the accessory bracket in the front and 2 braces in the rear, one to the intake, the other to the header flange.

I see you turned them upside down and made a 'bonnet' of some sorts to gather the compressed air...

< Actually their right side up.

< With some porting of the case, and overdriving the blower, (search 83 Crossfire TA) close to 10 pounds of boost on a 302 FI.
You can pick em up off EBay, or the SCCOA site. I picked up both for about 250.00 each shipped.

Looking good Saturn5!

I'm assuming that all that ducting is painted mild steel? do you have any closups of your outlet bonnets, they look better then the little aluminum doghouse that my brother is using...

Thanks!!

Yes its mild steel tubing painted with aluminum hammertone.

The bonnets are stock covers with the stock outlet removed, and 2.5 inch aluminum tubing down the center. I also removed the internal fins. I'll post some pics later. cheers, Bob

yes the hood closes. what I plan to do connect both inlets, build a filter box over the plenum and duct air in thru the hood. I have installed 88 T-T-bird hood scoops into the hood. I'll post some pics later. cheers, Bob
