vortech and built bottom end
Ok my friends car just got a new tpi 350 in it and he put in his camaro with a new cam and trick flow heads on it. He also bought a vortech supercharger but the guy that put all the stuff into his car said he doesn't want to put the supercharger on unless the bottom end is built with race parts because he said it will ruin the motor. He told my friend that he would replace the bottom end with racing parts, new trans or build the trans not sure which, and put a new rear in the car for like $ 9,000
or something rediculous like that. Does he even have to worry about the bottom end of the motor with a vortech ? it says vortechs are supose to work on stock engines. I told my friend that the cam he has in the car just might not work with the supercharger. So what should he do to the motor for the supercharger if anything at all ?

After reading all of that, I'm not sure I understood any of it.
What he can and cannot run heavily depends on the boost the vortech will make, and the compression his engine is making. Running low amounts of boost on a stock engine is pretty safe, it's when you increase this boost that you may begin to have problems. There are more things that could contribute to problems, but those are the main two.

Yeah my friend is an idiot he bought the car for 6000 its an 86 iroc he blew the 305 up cause he was doing about 135 and just kept pushing it and he blew a hole in his oil pan. Then he bought a 350 tpi and he is getting a custom interior in it all together he put about 14,000 into the system motor and he still needs to get it painted. moron blew $100,000 in less than a year he won a lawsuit and got like $200,000 the day he turned 18. People rip him off all the time cause if u tell him something is good he'll buy it
