ok, i've got an lt1 intake on a 355 with a 87 tpi maf ecm. Instead of buying the $600 lt1 or tpi nitrous kit, can i buy a $300 nitrous plate system for a 4 barrel carb'd intake and switch the nitrous plate in the kit from a 4bbl to a tpi/lt1 nitrous plate and get away with it? I don't see how there's be any problems unless something is required for the ecm to handle nitrous, but i want to make sure...

nothing cvomes in the kit for the computer if thats what you mean, I think your idea is sound, just make sure you get the partial kit with the plate and jets after you get the carbed kit, or switch it to a single nozzle (ala NX) and some around here can provide you with the jet sizes you will need.

there is no listing for a LT1 plate in the catalog but this is the TPI partial kit 13420NOS it is just the plate and jets maybe the studs and cable bracket plate but Im not sure. It is like $250 and it is out of stock, a single nozzlemight be cheaper and more ideal. http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...rchType%3DBoth

jegs sells 3 GM FI kits from NOS
p/n
741-05151 for tpi
741-05176 for 93-up lt1
741-05177 for ls1

and they're $560,$570, $719, respectively, and 75-125hp shots...so i was just wondering what's so special about them, i can't see the plates costing that much alone, and the most expensive 200-400hp Bigshot system NOS sells is only $619...so i'd think there'd be some difference in what's included, but i can't imagine what.

Edelbrock nitrous kits in Jegs are the exact same way
a Carbed 50-100hp kit is $349 (p/n 350-70001)
an lt1 system for 80hp or 150hp is $569 (p/ns 350-70205 & 350-70207)
what's this $220 going toward?

edelbrock says it interfaces with the computer somehow and the NOS description says that it keeps sensors from going into an open-loop mode that bypasses most computer controls? I'm not sure exactly how that'd work...or exactly what that means....any ideas?

you can do it like this. buy the hitman kit, buy the single fogger nozzle for the t/b elbow "which I have for sale" get the 2 -3an lines 24in long "which i have for sale" and then get the right jets to go with tpi setup. the lt1 and tpi setup is the same but nx runs a slightly bigger jet due to fuel pressure for the lt1. so they say. oh and I have the jets for sale to go with the kit. I jsut did the opposite of what you did. casue I switched to carb...
