Knock sensors and solid roller camshafts.
I posted this on the DFI board as well, but I figured some of you all might have ran into this.
Friend of mine is running 9.30s on a 400sbc, solid roller cam and a D1x blower with Gen 7 DFI. He was running 12lbs of boost and running pumped gas. He wants to continue running pumped gas, but has since upgraded to a D1R (believe) and is now running 18+lbs of boost. He wasn't running the knock sensor last time cause the solid roller was giving the knock sensor false detection.
He wants to get the knock sensor back to work, but to avoid the solid roller from making it show as pinging.
He called the acell dfi guy and he said he ought to try using a buick 3.8 knock sensor and a Spark Control Module from them as well. Does that work? If so how?
Is there another way around this?
Thanks for any help.
