Getting heads for FREE?

One of my friends knows this guy getting rid of a set of Heads for a 350 for FREE. Supposedly, they are ported, have a bullet-proof top end and a couple other mods. Anyways, I believe theads are off of a Carburated car.

I am intsalling a 350 TPI in my car very soon & Im wondering if I should get these heads & put them on my engine, or would it not run properly becuase they were off a Carburated car?

In 1987, GM changed the angle of protrusion for the bolt through the intake into the head on the 2 intake bolts in the middle on either side.

If you have older heads, and a newer intake, the intake will not bolt on. UNLESS, you get a grinder and elongate these holes. It has been done before so is no big hurdle. Or you could find a pre 87 intake if that becomes the case.

Good luck.
