supercharging

i have an 85 T/A 305 with hooker catback ported plenum and cone air filter and run a 15.0 at 91mph with a 2.1 60ft but with the 75 shot of nitrous i run a 13.7 at 103mph with a 2.1 60 ft and i was thinking about buying a procharger with the 2 core intercooler the p1sc i think thats what it is. and getting bigger fuel injectors. what do u think i will run without the nitrous and just the supercharger. i was also thinking about buying the gm vortech heads and base manifold and of course drag radials and exhaust cut out. what kind of times will i see with this set up?

Wrong. I got the D-1SC w/ the 3 core intercooler and a 10#pulley. I'm in the mid twelves and make good power but not enough to hit 11's. I also got other mods like gears, cam, etc and I'm not quite there. Dont get me wrong though the power is great, i'd get the D-1SC if I were you. Everyone I've ever talked to who had the P-1SC wishes they woulda just forked over the extra cash and got the D-1SC. Good Luck

I think you can run an 11 on a D1-SC. what do they put out, 1300 CFM ? isnt that enough for nearly 700 RWHP?

Well of course you can do it if you up the boost to like 13psi+. You can make gobs of power with the D-1SC but on a stock car, with just the kit they give you, it aint gonna happen. You'd require a pulley swap and probabbly a cog driven or 12 rib setup to get the kind of boost necessary to hit that. 700rwhp is very doable with the D-1SC.Im not saying the D-1SC's are bad,(especially since i got one) but they wont make enough power to just hit 11's without other modifications.

Not only that, but even if you get the boost on a stock engine to make 400 + RWHP to go 11's, better kiss the bottom end goodby!

That is the reality I am faced with.

I got 343 RWHP on my stock bottom end 305.

I would love to get a smaller pulley and run 13 + psi boost. But I have been advised by many knowledgable people that the cast bottom end is at the limit with my current HP.

Don't forget the weak link in the chain!
