Heads and some ??????'s

Hey guys I know someone that has a 25th aniversery Camaro and need some help. First off he sais that it had aluminum Vortec Heads from the factory. Is this true because I thought that Vortec's were a newer release than the 25th.
Secondly he keeps on saying that his car is a 25th although I dont think that it is wasent the 25th a 93 or was it a 92???
any help would be great.
Oh the reason that I am asking these ???'s is because I did some work on his car about a year ago (changed the coil and added a MSD 6AL to it to be exact) and he just recently noticed that his Aluminum Vortec heads were missind and some Cast iron ones were installed on it. It only took me about an hour to do the coil and 6AL and I know that I did not remove his heads and switch them out but doesent it take abit longer than hour to do something like this???

I am sorry if this is not the correct place to post this I was not shure on where to do it though.

Chris

No, they were cast iron from the factory.

25th was in 92.

If he still has the same heads on there that this car came from the factory with, then they will have some i.d. numbers stamped into them, proving that they match the motor and his car.

Maybe if this post can get moved to another board, somebody could tell you quicker where to look for those casting #'s...

The F-body never got vortec heads. Thats a common mistake though... people see the center bolt valve covers and assume they are vortecs. Also, the heads on the third gen F-body are cast iron not aluminium. The corvette got the aluminum heads, not the Camaro.

That is what I thought! This kid (he is 17yo) is trying to rip me a good one although He has nothing, no paper work that the car was ever in my possesion, no "sales slips", no proof what so ever and I can honestly say that there is no way that I would ever take anything off of someones car and replace it with a lesser part to benifit myself or anyone else.
Thankyou all for helping me with this delema and I wouldn't mind if this topic was moved to another place that people could help me more with. Just let me know if you do move it.
Thanks again,
Chris:rockon:
