Auxilary Fuel Pump w/ Vortec Supercharger

When we got the Vortect supercharger 1-1/2 years ago for my son's 88 GTA 5.7L engine, an auxilary fuel pump was supplied which got intalled in the engine compartment, in series with the high pressure line going to the fuel rails. In troubleshooting a low power problem in 3rd gear, I question if this pump is even running. When you key on, engine off, the pump starts to run & then shuts off automatically, just as it is suppose to. (The pump is wired through an extra relay, using the power source to the factory fuel pump relay. However, when the engines is started & running, I'm getting 12 volts at fuel pump + terminal, but the pump does not feel like it is running (no pump vibration). Are these pumps that Vortec supplies known for short service life? Aside from going bach through Vortec, is there another source for these pumps? Until I remove it, I can't remember the brand of pump that Vortec supplies. Any comments, suggestions?
Thanks, FJK

I never had any problems with the Vortech supplied booster pump. I believe it is rated at 28gal. per hour at 70psi. I have since made many upgrades and have gone with a Walbro inline pump that is rated at 255lph( about 60gph) and it works great. I cant remember what I paid. Maybe $150-175?

of course 3rd gear is going to feel weaker than say 2nd and 1st gear.3 rd gear is a 1 to 1 ratio...that means no torque multiplication to the rearend.cars accelerate strongest from the dead stop ,acceleration dies off as speed increases.as for your fuel pump , i dont think there anything is wrong with it .u said it ran with the koeo and u have power to the pump.
