Help! engine shuts down at 3000 rmp

I just finished the installation of my Paxton SN89 supercharger. Anytime I hit the 3000 to 3500 rpm range at WOT, the engine kinna stops on me. At first I thought I was having spark blowout, so I went and bought an Accel coil and gapped my plugs at 0,028. Still does the same thing. I'm running speed density with a check valve at the MAP, for a controled boost leak.

Now, I'm clueless???

Help!

Nik

rmp? Royal Mounted Police? 3000 of them? Hide the dope and get a shovel man! J/K anyways, tell us about your whole fuel system. I have a suspicion.

Fuel sys;
Stock 19#'s
Bosch inline booster pump
Vortech 12:1 FMU
I doubt I'm getting to much fuel, because it does that even when my booster pump is not on. My plugs are dark brown, so I am running a bit rich.

BTW: RPM, Sorry. And the other is not rmp, it's rcmp

a 12 to one plate is usually too much try a 8, 6, or 4 to 1. I would consider installing a $30 A/F ratio meter and buying the kit to try the 8, 6, and 4 to 1 ratios. You will probably really need that inline running too, I would also install a restrictor orafice and bleeder in the line for the FMU too. The orafices are available from autoparts stores in the "Help!" brand section it has a tiny cup in it that has around a .010"-.020" orafice, and the brass bleeder valve is available from vortech. I cant find a better picture of the restrictor but they come in different colors depending on the size of the orafice which is in a little brass cup installed inside the barbed plastic fitting I have pictured.

Ok... So I was not getting to much fuel. i unpluged the FMU, and it still did the same thing.

My problem was/is that my MAP sensor fawrks up when it sees boost. So now I fabbed a check valve that flowed more that the one I had before near the MAP. Now I'm able to pass 3000 at 1/2 throttle. But the MAP still sees the boost at WOT. I figure I would need a valve that flows at least twice as my current one..

I guess I'll have to visit my hardware store and see what I can fab up!

Does your paxton have a water injection? My old SN92 did and that was the problem. I had the same problem. Clean out the nozzle for the water injection and check the injection pump(hooked up to ur washer fluid) to make sure it is still working. Those things blow easily when they are blocked. I would do this first then check the fuel pressure to see if it is dying out at WOT. Do this by hoooking up a fuel pressure gauge and seeing if the pressure drops off at WOT.

grab a copy of the SyTy wiring diagrams, a copy of $58 (SyTy) bin. Rewire the 730 to match the SyTy diagrams, add a 2 bap MAP and burn the $58 to your prom.. ditch the FMU..

Search for 749, SATURN5, $58, SyTy.

cheers, Bob
