curious about superchargers

I tried to read some of the links none seemed to answer my questions tho.

I was considering buying a supercharger than ran off the belt and would blow it through the carb.

Im going to be looking for a supercharger on ebay or what not, and wasn't sure what I needed to look for once I found one.

Like, to keep it lubricated, do I need to have an oil line to feed it oil, or Is that just for turbos?

What I was thinking was getting a supercharger and connecting it to the belt where my AC compressor was before I took it off, and then having it blow through the carb.

At the bottom is a REQUEST PRODUCT LITERATURE button. Click this and they will send you a ton of great reading on centrifigal superchargers and intercooling.

The ATI superchargers mount on the right side of the motor as do the vortechs with their supplied brackets. All Vortech superchargers (to my knowledge) run off the engine's oil, you must plumb a line from the block to the supercharger and run a return line back to the oil pan.
As for ATI, the P600B is lubricated by the engine oil as well, but their P1SC (and many others) are self lubricating as opposed to having to punch a hole in your oil pan.

I would personally buy a kit, you will probably spend more trying to piece a kit together than you would just buying a kit from ATI. You will still need a boost referenced fuel pump (neither Vortech or ATI supply one with their carb kits) which ATI sells for around $70 and gauges to keep an eye on your boost and air/fuel ratio. I think you might be over simplifying this task in your head. Its not impossible, but it will cost you some $$$.
