How do I get this bottle valve off?

How do I get this bottle valve off?

I have an NOS 10 lb. bottle and need to replace the gasket between the valve and the bottle. How do I get this bottle valve off? I tried with a big crescent wrench but no luck.

I watched the guy at the bottle place do it he has a big rubber vise and special wrenches and a tourque wrench

believe it or not.....I used a nylon car tie down and tied it to a tree.
