The old numbers with 8lbs pulley was 274rwhp and 318ftp of torque. I'm just wondering how to figure the actual hp before the loss thru the drivetrain. Anyone have any ideas?? The guy at the shop said to take total rwhp @366 and divide by .8 to get approximent hp. I did it but it seems kinds high (457.50) and it equates to adding 25% to the 366. I thought it was only around 15% on what you'd lose thru the drivetrain not 25%.

dividing by .8 is a 20% loss, to figure at 15 divide by .85

That's odd..... I called Kennedy's to inquire about having a custom cam made and was told by whoever I was speaking with that Bob did not mess with TPI....

i think you've got some fuzzy math going on there...

1/.8 = 1.25, so it's a 25% loss
1/.85= 1.17, so it's a 17% loss
to estimate a 15% loss, divide by .87 (.8696), or simply multiply by 1.15 ....

Sorry but it's your math is incorret. Here is some simple round numbers to demonstrate.

Take 1000 crank HP with 15% loss. 1000 x .15 = 850 RWHP.

850 RWHP / .85 = 1,000 Crank HP. The 15% loss is on the "Grossed UP HP" (the 1000) not the "net" (850).

doh, i misread this. i thought he was going the other direction... didn't mean to confuse anyone.

i've just seen too many people think that to account for a 20% loss, you mulitply by 120% instead of 125%, etc...

1000x.15 would be 150, not 850

It should be 1000x.85, then you get 850

At what RPM did you make max HP?

Says on the sheets.........

MAX POWER=366.8@4800rpms
MAX FUEL PRESSURE=79.1@4900rpms
BLOWER PRESSURE=8.45lbs@4800rpms
MAX TORQUE=447.3@3750rpms

RPMS are approximate.....had to try and guess on them looking at the graph.

Stock bottom end???

Not sure what you mean but if you mean rearend yes stock 10 bolt with 3.23's

Can you post the dyno chart???

If I can get the scanner at work to work I will definately do this plus I want to post them on my site for proof.

Not sure about that one Willie, someone ising you. Because we have plans this winter to do a custom cam and go to 1.6 roller rockers and a Accel/DFI Gen7. I know he doesn't like the OEM computer on my car because it won't let him change certain things I guess. That's why I'm going to the GEN7. But he did have two other supercharged 3rd gens in the lot out back of the garage when I came to pick mine up.

Hi Jeff 91Z28/L98,

To clarify,

Thanks!

Looked at your charts. Resembles mine greatly. I got 343 RWHP at 4500 RPM.

Am planning on going to 15# boost, but am going to add alky/water to help insure that I get zero knock.

I have all stock bottom end, but ATI said that they ran a D-1SC on an all stock 3rd Gen at 15# boost with no problems.

I also just added the MSD Digital 6 ignition which is supposed to help keep some power above 4500 RPM.

Yeah everything is stock internal just the simple bolt-ons and porting of the plenum and runners. I'm trying to decide about going with the Stealth RAM (not sure of the fit under stock hood) and computer and just selling my polished TPI complete with wiring harness then I'd have to figure on the rest of the package like heads, rockers, cam, etc, etc. Decisions to make but limited money to spend Gotta keep looking around and doing some research and looking at other setups.

Going to the track tomorrow to see what it'll run in the quarter and I'll scan and post the results. Hoping for 12.3 or better.

Will do Pontiac, I think I need to look at an MSD 6AL too by the look of the graphs, running nothing but stock equipment right now.
