Blower Pulley?

I know ATI sells a 4.00 in. pulley and advertises 9#, 3.70 in. pulley for 12#, 3.40 in. pulley for 15#, but do they make any smaller? I'm asking because I just ordered the 3.40 in pulley and the next smaller one but when I received the order they only sent the 3.40 in. pulley. BTW does any body have a part number from NAPA or some other chain store for a belt that will fit the 3.40 in. pulley? When I went to NAPA and asked them for a belt that was 1/2 in. shorter they didn't have one (I'm currently running the 3.70 in. pulley with the 080645 Gates belt). The next two smaller sizes they offered were 080644 (too long) and 080640 (1/4 in. too short). Thanks in advance for the help!

Impeller speed.........

Since I rarely rev past 5400 rpm I calculated a minimum pulley diameter of less than 2.90 in. without reaching maximum impeller speed. This leaves me plenty of room to play! So any ideas?

In order to drop less then a 3.40 pulley with ATI you will need to go to a 12rib setup. If not it costs well over $600 to convert from 8 rib. I know they have a 3.25 & 3.10 in a 12 rib but sure if they go even smaller.

I have a 3.40 on my setup, I will check when I get home on the Gates belt number. I remember that it took three trips to the store to get it right after ATI had given me their recommendation which was not even close. (I think it was a 080633 but let me double check) it was not easy to get on but works great.

The cog belt setup sounds like the best option lets cross our fingers for a nice group purchase......

I have a list of gates micro v belts by size. I use two 8 rib belts cut down to 6 for my 12 rib. I will email you the list.

Sorry I thought it was a 080633 but I am using a 080635 with my 3.40 pulley on a P1SC

Technically I am a third gen. I have a 87 Monte Carlo SS with a TPI L98 and my accessory drive is from a third gen. I brought unit for ATI for a third gen car (88-92) So I know it is the same.
The belt is not easy to get on. I first intstalled the top bolt on the blower, then the belt, at this point it helps to have an extra set of hands to install the bottom bolt. Then the two middle bolts.
After a few drives the belt did slip sometimes but I had plenty of room for adjustment to correct the problem. Hope this helps.

At this point.........

I guess I'll try it, but from what I remember about that belt it was 1/4-1/2 in. too short. Either way I guess I 'll just force it to fit. I'm sure over time these belts stretch that much, so I'll put it in the oven at 180* for 10 minutes and accelerate the process. Thanks for the help. Is anyone else out there using a P1SC with the 3.40 in pulley? If so, what belt are you using?

I was told by ATI that a change from the 3.70 pulley to the 3.40 pulley would still use the 080645 belt!!!

I bought extras for the 3.70 and was delighted to find that I could go to the next smaller pulley and use the same belt.

I am running a D-1SC, but I would expect that the belt arrangement is the same.

Does anyone know if the pulley arrangement is different between the P-1SC and the D-1SC?

Kendol, please let me know what you find.

Thanks!

The belt lengths should be the same between a D1SC and a P1SC, as the only difference is the impeller.
