Using 2lb bottle instead of 10?
Using 2lb bottle instead of 10?
I was wondering if using a 2lb bottle instead of the normal 10lb one would be possible? I emailed NOS about it and they said a 2lb bottle can't keep up with a car's demands (their exact words).
Anyone using a smaller bottle with success?

Isn't rule of thumb for a 10lb bottle that at a 100HP shot you use 6lbs per minute, so that would mean roughly 80seconds of nitrous flow for the full 10lbs, which should be like 5 good runs and possibly a 6th (although with low pressure)?
This would mean a 2.5lbs bottle should theoritically be good for 20seconds shot of 100HP nitrous, or 25 seconds of 75HP shot of nitrous.
Wouldn't it?

150 shot = 6 lb/min but either way, using a bottle until its empty is near impossible any how. Add that to the fact the bottle is only 2# to begin with all I see is problems.
We get tons of people that have10# bottles always asking about why thier car surges and runs rich, its usually due to the fact that while tuning they have used more nitrous than they had any idea that they could (more than they thought they did).
